Really quick and easy read. I can forgive the quick pacing and easy resolution of things as I did feel like it stayed true to short fairy folk tale structure. I liked the two MCs, and I think an extended, more fleshed out version would be completely welcomed by me. I could see the premise of the story being reformatted into a longer slow burn, but at this point, that's just personal preference. This was one where as soon as I finished the very last page, I was curious as to an epilogue after everything.

For those who like a fun cheesy fantasy read with some action. I enjoyed it as an in between book

It has everything you could want (or at least what I want): read like a gay retelling of Beauty and the Beast ✅, someone cursed as a vampire ✅, coven of witches ✅ and enemies to lovers ✅

Such a fun pace and enjoyable read

Parts of this story were a bit slow. It seems we were following Jak wandering around aimlessly in the castle for an amount of time that I kind of lost track of. They seemed to have minimal interactions before becoming deeply involved but I still enjoyed the book.  I liked it enough to keep and potentially read again but I also felt underwhelmed at the end. I still will be continuing with the series.

"I'm not going to fall for him"

Three pages and a dream later....

A bit too flip floppy for me, and the end conflict was oddly solved

Writing wasn’t very good, and I despised the voice the audiobook narrator used for the main vampire guy. The fantasy setting was not developed/explained at all, and I had very little sense of what the stakes even were. And while I know it’s enemies to lovers, the two MCs had zero chemistry that made me want to see them get together. Only made it this far by half-listening to the audio, but honestly just going to cut my losses with this one. I was more interested in the second book in the series, anyway, and supposedly they’re stand-alones.
