This was a decent sequel!! It did take me a while to get through, probably just how busy I was and because it was a slower start it was harder to get through. I found myself skimming through a lot of the beginning just because nothing was happening!! Towards the middle it gets better, the pacing is better, but then it goes kinda slow again?? So like the middle part was fine to read and like the very end but other than that the pacing was just either slow or just not very interesting and wanting to keep me interested. I did like the ending, how it wasn't exactly the ~happiest~ of endings but it was good for each of the characters and that last line with Aurora and Alyce was just so cute!

Alyce/Nimara returns for another epic story about power, finding yourself and learning what it means to truly love. 4.5 ⭐️
***********SPOILERS AHEAD****************
100 years after Aurora pricks her finger and succumbs to curse #2 (this princess can’t catch a break) and Alyce is still holding onto the dream of a life they might have together. Consumed by fear and hate she’s met another vila, Regan, and started waging war on the Fae and providing a home to all the wayward creatures the realm turned their backs on.
In creating the Dark Court Alyce has managed to surround herself with a pretty badass inner circle. You can’t go wrong with a demon, a shifter, a vila and a goblin. All this while harboring Mortania (evil bitch from book 1) and her poisonous agenda inside her and wrangling all of the mischievous imps dead set on defacing the palace and pranking all of its inhabitants.
Surprise, surprise Aurora wakes up (thanks Derek- the random dude who washed ashore) and all hell breaks loose. There’s hidden agendas, blood oaths, prophecies, backstabbing, betrayal and you guessed it….more TRUST ISSUES!
