OH MY JESUS THIS IS THE WORST BOOK I HAVE READ........EVER

I mean seriously who puts all the cliches of every single YA Paranormal book and thinks something decent will come out of it, no, just no.

Lets just list some of the typical no-no s of this book series:

Girl who has suffered a great loss in a car accident (how original)
Girl who sees auras
Girl who isn't accepted into the new place she has moved to (remind you of any other books yet?)
Girl who's best friends are F***ing outcasts
Girl doesn't get along well with the school's top female dog
Girl who's aunt is conveniently never there (oh an loaded ofcourse)
Boy who is incredibly sexy, mysterious, brooding and moody ( I mean the list could go on)
Boy who is emancipated ( because that is not suspicious at all)
Boy who is rich as hell
Boy who is so secretive , girl knows nothing about him
Boy likes girl but girl is in denial

OH AND A SHIT PLOT LINE

THE LIST COULD GO ON 😊

Oh... WOW. This book just blew me away. I was intrigued by the first line, which was the first building block for Ever and Damen's fantastic tale. I have been waiting to get my hands on this book for quite a while now. I read the blurb a long time ago, and I knew I had to read it. The result of reading it? I fell in love with Ever and Damen. Alyson Noel really knows how to build suspense, create obstacles and do everything else that makes a book interesting. I definitely recommend that you go read The Immortals Series. Stunning.

Ever: wears hoodies, plays 80s rock ironically, not like other girls

Damen: i need to take this girl to my creepy beach shack asap

Fast, easy, brainless read. Enjoyed some moments of it, thought others were ridiculous.

This book is actually interesting. Immortal, Vampire- Same difference. Come on!! He's drinking red liquid, sucks blood, smart, and attractive; How is he NOT a vampire?
I regret having put this book aside b/c I thought it was just another one of those YA books that were so cliche.

What. What? WHAT?!

Seriously, what is with this book? I'm not sure what came first but it is a PERFECT combination between the vampire diaries and Twilight - right down to certain scenes being plucked out of it.

Major differences are that Damen is actually not creepy (ish) and Ever is quite likeable.

Apart from that I couldn't stop comparing the books. Although I did enjoy it. I really did.

(years on and i don't even remember a single thing about this book. it's completely forgettable so I've putting my rating down to reflect this)

For about the first half of the book, it was all pretty cliché.

I mean, you have the outcast girl (though she’s psycic), the perfect love interest (though he’s immortal), the jealous ex-girlfriend (once again, immortal), the typical mean girl (a mild irritation), and the completely useless best friends.

For the ENTIRETY of this book, I was CONSTANTLY remind of The Vampire Diaries... especially since the love interest’s name is Damen. To top it all off, he was dark, mysterious, used to be quite rebellious... though his eyes are brown, not blue, but tomayto, tomahto, right?

Then he started reminding me of Stefan, what with the whole saving-the-protagonist-from-an-accident-that-killed-her-family situation. Also, Ever’s reaction when she found out Damen’s immortal was VERY similar to Elena’s reaction when she found out Stefan’s a vampire.

And I enjoyed this book. It was quite an easy read, but I still have five more to go! There was ONE part where I was absolutely sobbing...

I think this book got four stars instead of three was because of how quickly I read it.

Great read for anyone wanting a paranormal romance but without the vamps and wolves. I all ways look for the little touches in books that are often forgotten or over looked but Noel's addition of the flowers is a nice thought and even more so when we find out what meaning the flowers hold.
