As another review put it, this book is utterly horrific and yet I couldn't put it down. Mostly because it was short and I wanted to be done with it already, but also because the prose is well written even if the content of it is nauseating. I'm not shy of horror, but this was a step too far for me.

This was absolutely demonic. And that's the point, I guess. Poverty and its many faces of degradation.

Very dark, very intense, relentless, written in a stream of consciousness style that works well for the subject matter and setting in a poor Mexican village ravaged by drugs, violence, and (largely) misdirected rage. Not for the faint of heart, but a compelling, powerful, yet painful read

very well written; very disturbing too. you get (sometimes uncomfortably) deep into the characters psyches. i like the title because reading this feels like being in a hurricane of emotions, trauma, hate, sadness.

The most grim and dark book I’ve read in a long time. Just when you thought things couldn’t get more depraved, they do! A graphic and unflinching look at the darkest corners of humanity. What made me not just DNF it was the writing and the structure of it. Short but packs the biggest punch.

Fernanda Melchor, tiene mis respetos. Nunca voy a olvidar las emociones que senti cuando estaba leyendo esto.
