So I took one for Team Bookish. It's sooooooo bad. But the type of bad you still kinda want to see what happens

"She had listened to her heart and allowed herself to succumb to Covid's charm. She had ignored what her head had said, and instead... she had embraced love."

After two friends read this book and described it to me as absolutely unhinged, I had to know more. And they were right! It was.
But after listening to the videoessay in which "withCindy" on youtube described this as "a literary tale about humanity, capitalism, and the lust for gratification", my eyes were opened.
As a campy, cheesefest smut novel it is a solid 1 star. But if you embrace the unhingitity... it becomes a 5-star instant classic on how we value liberty over personal safety.
Is this lowbrow smut, in which Alexa is simply gushing through her pants at a glimpse of a deadly virus? Or is that an allegory for pandemic profiteering?
Is this a story about a lab worker being overcome with lust to the point of throwing lab safety and ethics aside, or is it a scathing critique of how quickly and ridiculously society will toss aside all reason in the pursuit of individual delusion and desire?

I actually do not know and am genuinely asking. Please, someone tell me, I don't know anymore.

Hilarious

This book is absolutely hilarious and is fantastic for what it is. If you’re looking for something funny and little bit sexy this is definitely a fun short read.

God Tier Satire

It’s so gloriously bad, and it knows it’s bad and it rolls with it and has fun with the genre. A+ shit post
