Traveling from town to town, Ferry is helping communities with any troubles they have as a mythical beast investigator. Though she might seem like she can't do much upon appearance, she is extremely knowledgeable and with the of some amazing creatures, there really isn't a task she can't handle.

I loved this so much and the banter between Ferry, Throw, and Kushuna made my heart so happy. The fact that we had Ferry reading off different pages of her official texts on mythical beasts was such an amazing detail that I couldn't get enough of. I looked forward to each new beast they encountered and loved Kushuna's hatred of humans but pure love of Ferry. I'm so sad that this is only a 2 volume series but I am definitely going to pick of the last volume as soon as I can manage to get my hands on it!

This is the story of how the lonely king of darkness met a certain girl over and over again.

The story of their first meeting really snuck up on me and just destroyed any feelings I might have. This was beautiful while also painfully heartwarming. I never saw the true story of this trio coming and the realities of their circumstances they were laid out with each passing chapter crushed my soul. I desperately want more from this world though I don’t think it’ll ever happen

I have a soft spot for manga involving mythical beasts. How to Treat Magical Beasts is a favorite manga series of mine, so this seemed right up my alley. Ferry and her...bodyguard/caretaker(?) Kushuna are tasked with fielding requests and smoothing ruffled feathers (hehehe) between humans and the many magical creatures in the world. The story being told in this first volume is very episodic, with each chapter mostly self-contained stories. I enjoyed the Basilisk and the Mermaid stories the best, but they each have their charms.

The art was decent, maybe not exceptional or memorable, but also not awful either. I enjoyed the portrayal of Kushuna and the hints of him being more than he seems. I, too, would love a killer black rabbit spirit thing in a top hat following me around to make sure I don't trip or die.

I'll definitely continue with this series, and I look forward to reading volume 2!

Woah, I guess I didn't realize this series was a duology when I read the first volume. This second volume is an abrupt departure from what the first volume was, and was actually pretty heart wrenching in places. The art felt like a step up from the first volume, particularly in the climax chapter of this story.

While I really appreciate not having to collect 50 volumes to keep up with the story and generally appreciate that the creator tried to self-contain a full story within these two volumes, I felt like the "ending" was a bit vague and confusing. Evidently this series is a light novel adaptation, but where's the light novel? I'm actually interested in reading the source material to see where this goes, if it has been translated, but I can't seem to locate it anywhere.

Still, this was unexpected and a delight to read. I love unexpected twists, and this delivered.

It was a simple read and sometimes sad moments and funny. Love the rabbit/bunny(?).

The ending was, frankly, bizarre. But it was still so good!

I really enjoyed this one! The art & story both. Shame it’s only two volumes.
