Both fun and interesting; and educational to boot! Makes me want to give creative writing a shot

He likes Shakespeare a lot. Otherwise it's a book where you should do as it says and as it writes.

This book teaches you a lot about words and how they work, but the thing that stood out the most is that mark forsyth is so dang funny. maybe it's because I wasn't expecting any humor that it works so well? I'll read his other books, for his humor alone.
I'm marking it 5 stars because it was such a joy to read. I do think it can be improved; mainly i wanted it to be so much more dense. There's A LOT in this book and it feels like we just touch the surface of a thousand different concepts. I understood each one, but wanted to spend more time with them as well.

I wish I had this in college, college then would have been a little bit easier. But no matter, it helps to know rhetorical devices.

I learned so much! Too much, in fact, to possibly internalize it all

This book is perfect for learning elements of rhetoric. I'm not going to review this fully because, even though I've 'read it', there is much work that I need to do with it, much time that I need to spend with it yet.

A witty, easy read that breaks down literary devices in a digestible way with classic examples and tips on how-to-use. A useful read for any writer!
