It was a sweet story and had a lot of depth considering it was a quickie... it will be interesting to see what other powers the sisters have, short but sweet

Sarah's home was whispered in the wind, Damon felt compelled to go to cliff top house where he meets they mysterious Sarah Drake.
Damon is a damaged physically and emotionally from an attack where his close friend and colleague died because he wouldn't give up national security secrets.
When he cuts ties with work and retires to the sleepy town of sea haven. he finds he's not as hidden as he thinks.
Sarah's returned home but not just for good but to protect Damon from bad guys.
What she didn't expect was for Damon to walk through a magically locked gate starting the Drake sister prophecy off.
Great story but amazing start to Drake Sister series.
HEA

Se eu tivesse começado por este livro (e não pelo segundo), não teria lido o segundo.
Não se compara.
Senti que este livro era um autêntico "despacho".
Mas pronto... Agora já sei o que aconteceu com a Sarah e o Damon.

I liked this well enough that I will read more books in the series. Love it when the woman in a story is strong and capable. YAY!

Short first story in the Drake sisters series. Nice opening but looking forward to the next.

Ultimately, I feel like this was a rough draft of a book that should have been fleshed out more before being published. The story is OK, really it's easy to tell that the book is just setting up a series and getting you into the small town and an introduction to the Drake sisters. The characters are likable and not annoyingly perfect. Everything does lean to cliche and predictable... and really, if you're going to make so many references to an ancient family prophecy, can the readers at least read that prophecy once? In a prologue? or a chapter heading if you don't want a character to recite it?

I feel like Feehan had an idea, formulaic yes, but an idea nonetheless, and didn't know how to execute it. The subject matter, POV, and train of thought seems to jump around so much I often felt that I had missed a page or a paragraph. Also, everything was so rushed and unrealistic; Damon and Jonas spilling their guts out to each other after meeting a day ago? Riiiight... Sarah and Damon going from talking, to deciding they are in a relationship, to being totally in love, in about 2 days... really would have benefited from more time spent on story development.

I'm curious enough about the sisters to give this another try, but if you attempt it, keep your expectations low.
