Great Story

I really liked reading about a mature couple. The story shows the realistic side of that love while still being a true Susan stoker story.

If you're reading this book, you're more than likely a Susan Stoker fan. And none of her characters are young considering the point they are all at in their service, but it's nice to catch up with the older people on base too. The fact that Jane finally gets to have the man she's always wanted, even after a rather embarrassing day at work, makes getting older not feel to bad. Storm North finally wakes up one day to realize Jane might have a little crush on him which is good because he feels the same. The best part of these novellas is that it's not like the characters don't already know each other, so there doesn't have to be a big build up. I appreciate getting into the mystery part once the romantic parts are established. Since this is a novella, I can re-listen to it all the time for a happy pick me up. Bombs, explosions and a standoff - just another day in the life of working on a military base.

I did enjoy this well enough, but I'm finding I don't gel as easily with her older MCs. I like that she writes for characters who aren't in their 20s, but often times they don't feel any older to me.

Jane had a crush on Storm North for years. The best moments of her day were when she gets to hand him his mail and get him to smile.

One day a bomb was sent to the base and Jane had to send everyone out of the room as protocol and locked herself in until the decontamination team came. On that same day, Storm noticed Jane, really noticed her, and decided that he wanted to try going out with her. When Storm heard that there was a code black in the mailroom he didn’t stop to think. He knew Jane was there.

After that day, they got closer.

It was cute and heartwarming. A story of hope that love will find its way to you no matter when. A smart woman and a kick ass man found their way to each other after years of feeling like they will never find the one.

This is another classic Susan Stoker tale that is full of romance, action and navy seals! This is a tale of two people who found love later in life. But no matter the age the heart knows what the heart wants! Jane manages the base post office and has had a crush on Storm for years. Then one day he looks up and really sees her, the rest is history! A bomb plot, two people finding love and catching up with some of Susan Stokers favorite characters! What more could you want in a Susan Stoker story!

Nice HEA story. Reunion with daughter was a little over the top, but I really enjoyed both of the mail characters!

We all know I'm a Susan Stoker super-fan so it comes as no surprise that I loved Securing Jane. I was happy to see Storm North finally get his own happily ever after after watching his teams all secure the women of their dreams. Jane is no pushover herself when faced with danger and she is a comfort to the driven SEAL Commander. Most of Susan Stoker's books feature SEALs, Deltas or other badasses in their mid-thirties, but she has written a few novellas featuring characters in their late-forties and early fifties and I really enjoy seeing these more seasoned characters get their happily ever afters. If you liked Securing Jane I can highly recommend checking out Protecting Dakota, Rescuing Macie, and Lambert's Lady. Also, if you haven't read Securing Brenae please please do because this long-term couple is one of my favourites, and they feature in Securing Jane!

Securing Jane is the perfect tie in novella between Susan Stoker’s SEAL of Protection series and a new upcoming series.

Commander North was always the main man responsible for three different teams of Navy SEALs. He was always there in the background and he’s always there for his men. Except now, he’s feeling like something is missing from his life after watching all of his men start to settle down with wives and children.

When Jane enters his officer to deliver his mail, he starts to see her in a different light. He starts to see that Jane always has a smile on her face and has even started to flirt a little with him.

Jane is a 51 years old contractor who after a failed marriage and has gone through hell raising her daughter on her own, has finally decided to show Commander North that she’s interested in him. When a package comes through the mail sorting room and looks suspicious, things take a drastic turn for Jane.

I loved this book from start to finish. It was action packed and I love that Commander North finally gets his happily ever after.

I definitely can’t wait to read the next series!

Delivering mail to Storm is the bright spot in Jane’s day. Workaholic Storm doesn’t notice Jane until one day he does. He recognizes the same longing for companionship in her that he feels. He plans to get to know Jane slowly, but fate has other plans.

Often the stories in novellas feel rushed or incomplete, and the characters aren’t well defined, but not this one. Securing Jane maintains a tightly focused plot while delving into Storm and Jane — their backstories and motivations. The storyline moves at a fast but reasonable pace, and the reader develops a very good sense of who Jane and Storm are. This novella delivers a complete story with well-developed characters.

I enjoyed this mature romance between two great characters. I liked the way Storm appreciates Jane for who she is and builds up her self image. I loved how protective he is of her. Jane knows what she wants and goes after it when the opportunity presents itself.

Securing Jane was a good preview of the series for those like me who are new to it. I definitely recommend this quick read with the right mix of suspense and romance.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an early copy of this book. This review reflects my unbiased, honest opinion.

Loved Jane. Loved Storm. Totally loved their relationship and the development of it that we were witness to. Loved the ensemble cast... so good to have so many of our favourites there!

I get the whole 'Shawshank' thing... but, for me, it was a little OTT. I really didn't like Rose and was kind of hoping that it would turn out that she was part of the 'problem'... she was 26 for goodness sake... and yet, she was still behaving as a young teen. Accountability anyone? I think, for me, the tone of my attitude to Rose was set with the whole 'Plain Jane' thing... just awful. Left a nasty taste in my mouth. It is only for those two things that this isn't a 5 star for me. They just... jarred.
