I have nothing to say about this book that hasn't already been said... It was simply beautiful. A must-read!

The way the author talks about their connection to nature is truly evocative and beautiful.  There’s a familial component to it that, at first, was comforting in that you can find a community all around you if you would but care to look.  But then it began to center motherhood and the assumption that if female, you too will be a mother and experience these things, which was unfortunate.  It became a repetitive narrative that dragged itself to the finish line.

An informative and thought-provoking read. It got a little long for my taste, but overall very enjoyable and stimulating.

This is such a beautiful book that reflects on the way the native populations see nature, the harm colonization and capitalism have done, and opportunities to try and fix what we have broken. It made me sad to learn about the depth of what we've lost, but it's also a hopeful that all is not yet lost. I read this one on audio, and I think I appreciated it more that way because the native languages were pronounced properly, which is so important. Highly recommend this one if you love nature and/or want to learn more about native beliefs on how best to live in unity with earth.

This is one of my favorite books and I’ve read it a couple times now. I pick it up any time I need a reminder to stay hopeful and continue the important work I’m doing with nature and my community.

I did not expect this to have as much "memoir" as it did, but it was a good read/listen. Very informative.  Great example of indigenous knowledge being applied to contemporary situations.
