Femme fatale with a twist. Found the way the murder was revealed a bit clunky. Good and fitting end though.

Very good suspense novel. Hard to guess the last few chapters.

Suspenseful and a quick read. Similar to other Swanson's books, I was more interested in the book recommendations throughout the book. I have to read Ed McBain and Ira Levin sometime.

Suoer disappointed. The kind worth killing was so good and this was trash. The plot was so weird and bizarre and creepy, the only thing that remotely saves it is the ending. But even still.....

This book is a well written thriller however I thought the relationships outlined in the book were disturbing and never really considered.
I liked the change in narration throughout the book, switching mainly between 2 perspectives. I found Harry to be a much more interesting narrator and I didn't care much for Alice or her storyline.
I would've preferred if the psychology of Alice was explored in the "now" section, the part from her perspective seemed very late on and rushed. Either that or I would've liked more of a twist, it was obvious from not long in who had killed Harry's father and although there were small twists after this it didn't seem enough for a thriller.

I enjoy Swanson’s writing style and character development, and found the dual-timeline captivating. I didn’t predict the “twist” which is always fun, and the story kept me guessing and wanting to figure more out. The content is disturbing but overall handled in a thought-provoking way. Four stars for me as I felt the story lost some of its luster after the reveal, seemed to just stumble into an ending.
