I don't love some things about Roberts' writing (too many sentence fragments disguised as sentences) but she gets the job done every time. This story about rebuilding an historical inn is rich with detail, and almost more talk of paint colors, tile layouts, and decor than I like, but she always does her research well. Also, she has the capability of making believable conflict out of nothing. This is a solid book, and while it's not her best, it's enjoyable.

Enjoyed the start to the series, forgot how much I liked this story and the characters in it. Beckett’s scenes with Clare’s boys were the best. Loved seeing him turn into a dad

I can say I've read Nora Roberts. I skipped 100 pages to get to the end, but don't feel I missed out on anything. While not my cup of tea, I now understand some elements of appeal for this genre. Will I pick up another romance? Yes. But it will need to be a bit more quirky. I like quirky.

This book was really awful. The characters were trying too hard to have banter and to be 'lads' rather than grown men. The attraction between Beck and Clare was so sudden that it felt forced and MY GOD, so little happened beyond pages and pages full of descriptions about furniture that I thoroughly gave up even bothering to read.

Easy, fun, fluff read. Perfect for a flight or vacation.

This is the first book I've read by Nora Roberts and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the wonderful balance of romance, building of the inn and small town life. This was a book that when I was reading it I could become completely involved in and forget everything else. That's a little touch of magic in the normal every day world and any book that does that gets high marks in my book.

Fun and entertaining, although predictable

Will look forward to the next book in the series
