Even Better
So I thought Under Different Stars was good . . . Sea of Stars was even better. And I am excited to start Darken the Stars.

So there will be spoilers. Do not keep reading unless you want to read spoilers. I am about to unleash some fury right here....
Let's get on with it.
OMFG THIS BOOK! Let me just say that I have never been so angry as when I realized Kricket's father is still alive. What a douchecanoe. DOUCHECANOE!!!!!! Who the FUCK leaves their daughter on a separate world, alone and abandoned for a freaking prophecy?! This douche-nugget apparently saves one child and leaves the other. I have to say right now, that I am feeling some full on HATRED for her parents. Her mom leaves one child to grow up with the Alameeda, and I definitely couldn't abandon my kid for some man no matter how much I loved him. Secondly, her dad leaves her. Just flat out leaves her. Did he have any clue what would happen to her? YES because they lived on earth, and he still freaking left her. I hate him, I'm sure in the next book he'll be some nice guy, but I will still hate him. I hope Trey hands him his ass. He deserves a serious ass-kicking...
I feel bad for Astrid, because it wasn't her choice to leave Kricket behind, and it seems like she's been trying to find her for years. However, Kricket's resentment is totally understandable. I would resent the shit out of Astrid. What's so great about her that she got to grow up with her people and world while Kricket got nearly forced into prostitution because of Dan.
I loved this book even this rant aside, honestly a huge kudos to Amy Bartol for making me feel so passionate on Kricket's behalf that I am irately angry even 2 hours after finishing this book. Seriously 5 out of 5 stars, and I have to go stalk book 3 now. I need an ARC copy like yesterday.

Minimally better than the first book. I gave it two stars (even after I gave the first book three) because I had high expectations of the second book. Expectations that were not met. The series itself has a fantastic plot, but the execution was horrible. I won't be reading the third book.

I love Amy Bartol... LOVE HER... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HER!!!
If I was a little more psychotic, she'd be trapped in my basement while I demanded her to type out all the glorious words, sentences, paragraphs, and chapters that leave me feeling book-gasmic...
So glorious I make up words just to describe what her books do to me!!
I don't say that to just any author, just the ones that leave me with all the feels.
To prepare for this book, I had to do a reread of Under Different Stars. When I say I "had to," what I really mean is, I wanted to because I missed these characters and this way, I got to experience them longer than I would have if I jumped into book 2.
Kricket is back, right where she left off but if you thought things would smooth out once she was on Skye, you are truly mistaken.
There was so much action, every single page had something happening, someone dying (WHAAAT)... fighting, blood, guts, and gore. I was riveted in every aspect, I wanted to learn more, meet new people, and discover the truth of what was really happening.
But nothing really gets settled, if anything more secrets get divulged and I am salivating for the next book in this series. I need it like I need my morning cup of coffee to make me feel less like a homeless woman and more like a citizen of society (sometimes).
Where Amy left this book, had me wanting to track her down and scream at her like a lunatic...
How dare her leave us like that, how dare her do that to ME!!! I know what she is doing, she did it in her Premonition series, trying to make me sympathize and like the antagonist but.. I can't!!! NOPE!
Brennus can suck it as much as Kyon can!! They can suck together!
Kyon has to go somewhere else, HAS TO!! I don't like him, I am totally team Trey and maybe a little bit of Giffen (you meet him in this one)... And I can't love him like I love Trey, nope, don't even try it lady!!!
(That above statement made me sound like a total teen fangirl but whatever, I don't care... Judge away)
Ugh... Anyway, this book is just as spectacular as the first one, if not more so. I loved it and I officially don't like Amy so you know she did an amazing job if I am salivating for the next book, and hating the author at the same time...
If you have not discovered Kricket and her story yet, then you are truly missing out!! I 10000000% recommend this book to anyone who loves a great adventure, another world, love, and fuckedupness...
It has everything and you will not be disappointed!!
I give this a 5"I love Kricket so hard, but Amy is a butthead" Stars!!!

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I don’t even know where to begin with this review. I was pretty excited to read this book because book 1 ended so greatly. While this book started off alright, I definitely skimmed through most of it. I feel kind of bad for review this because there wasn’t much about this book that I enjoyed.
Trey and Kyon and Kricket (the three main characters) annoyed the heck out of me. Trey was way to protective. He wanted to kill everything and everyone who harmed Kricket: past, present, and future. He was way to over protective. He wouldn’t let her leave his sight, yet it was okay for him to leave her when the need be. Kyon was way too possessive to be considered attractive. I’ve read reviews for book 3 and people are drooling over him. I don’t understand, how can a person who see women as objects be attractive? No. Nope. Never. I’d rather be single than be with someone like that. and Kricket, she didn’t fight to hard to change things, even though she can see the future and try to change the outcome.
I can’t say much about the plot, because there isn’t much of one to begin with. There’s a war going on and all they do is run away and have sex.
The only reason I’m continuing on with this series is because, why stop now? I’m almost done, only one book left. Although I have a feeling is going to be worse than the first two.

If I could I would give this book 10 stars! Amy has a way of making you fall in love with her characters! Kricket and Trey are wonderful and Jax and Wayra both have a personality that draws you in. And of course the bad boy Kyon! I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next!

I liked it
I thought this was very entertaining. Lots of action with some romance in the mix. I love chemistry between Kricket and Trey.
