Let me preface this by saying: this is not RWRB, nor is it trying to be. Don't think that. It's so very different. It's so very wonderful.

When Callum Prescott, the awkward, pun-loving insurance worker from California gets the news, he's just as shocked as anyone: an unprecedented scandal has left him as the heir to the British throne. Dragged across the pond and dropped into Buckingham Palace, the American prince is having a hard time. That is, until he befriends the charming Prime Minister, Oliver Hartwell. Their late-night text chains and inside jokes make Callum's integration a little easier, but what happens when things become… more?

Let me tell you that I finished this book in less than 48 hours. Callum is such a delightful goofball, dorky for sure, but also clever and smart. Oliver's wit and charm are matchless, and watching them fall in love, while also trying to stay loyal to their county, is beautiful. I loved that I literally didn't know how the two would end up until the last chapter, and an end-of-book twist had me literally gasping aloud.

Highly recommend for anyone who loves MM romance, British hotties, random facts, or just wants some good old ADHD representation. God bless the prince of Wales.

I received this book as a digital advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

if you liked Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston then you should read this!

(I received an ARC for this book)

trigger warnings can be found at the bottom of my review to avoid spoilers

Callum’s life going from normal and boring to the throne overnight happened just as quickly as my love for this book! This was definitely an instalove for me! And a lot of that is because of Callum. I instantly loved His Royal Highness. I couldn’t get enough of him. His quirks, his humor, his fun facts, his unapologetic way of being himself. But then again, a lot of that had to do with Oliver. Because he encouraged Callum to never be anything less than himself. Mr. Prime Minister made me just as protective of HRH as he was. It didn’t matter which POV it was, it was always apparent that Oliver found Callum amusing. And then it was even more obvious when feelings started getting involved. The obsession with each other. Their need. Their undeniable attraction to each other’s souls and hearts. Because that’s exactly what came first. Callum and Oliver confided in each other. And it was beautiful experiencing their comfort, compassion. They didn’t just bring out the best in each other, but they loved each other through it. Because it was NOT an easy road for them to travel! If you take out the pressures, the expectations, Oliver and Callum had an ease between them. Which really only made the situation harder.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “Your hardest is good enough. Of course it is.”
• “I trust you. I just don’t trust myself.”
• “I’ve never felt like this about anyone.”
• “I can never stop thinking about it.”
• “We don’t know what the future holds. But I do know I can’t be without you now.”
• “You don’t have to look very far to find someone who loves you.”
• “You’ve got me.”
• “The more I know of you, the more I revere you.”
• “It’s so sexy when you talk logistics to me.”
• “The universe never quite made sense to me until I got to touch you.”
• “I can’t imagine ever wanting anyone but him.”
• “I can’t live in a world without him.”
• “But I love you more.”
• “Either way, I’m yours.”

This is the dumbest reason not to leave five stars but... one of the main characters is often discussing fun facts learned through school, the internet, and documentaries. Yet there's still a line in the book about Henry Ford inventing the automobile. I can't give a five star rating, I could not forget that line the whole way through. Also, one side character's arc made absolutely no sense at the end
