What in blazes was this?

I was being generous by giving the first two books in the series 3 stars, mostly because this was the duo that somehow gave us the amazing "Illuminae Files". They were honestly more like 2 stars, but I had to finish the trilogy since I read the first two and so here we are.

This book is absolute garbage. I mean, it's words on pages and it was published so I guess that counts.

It's about 75% "relationship" nonsense. Not that any of these relationships are in any way believable.

Then there's the plot. It's completely nonsensical. Also, the plot doesn't even move forward for about three quarters of the book.

I wish I had gone with my gut after book one and just DNF'd the series as a whole. Avoid this trilogy at all costs.

this book stressed me out endlessly but the planning it must have taken to write it let’s me forgive the stress. yes the ending was a little cheesy at its core, but once and a while is that such a bad thing? parts of this book felt /so/ long because i just wanted to get to the ending so badly, but i think the length is justified. although did we need all four?? (maybe more??) of those back to back tyler chapters in the end? the suspense was killing me!

beautifully written series. can’t wait to listen to the audio books with the cast!

more of a 3.75 bumped up. the charm of this series was the found family aspect in the first book which is missing here as everyone gets separated!! i also personally auri's whole ~vibe throughout this kinda annoying and the future scenes were easily my least favorite even though i largely enjoyed kal/auri scenes in the last book. idk!! this just could've been better and had more potential i think
