Oof! What a way to end this space escapade! I wasn't sure I was going to like it once I got to the final part of this book. I truly thought I was about to be let down after the journey I went through. I was fully prepared to give it a 2 star review and at the last minute the crew pulled through for me. It had me crying at the end.

Picks up immediately where it left off in AC .02.

Zila, Scarlett, and Fin wind up together in a temporal time loop and a dark matter tempest and have to team up with someone from the past in order to get out and back to their time.

Kal and Auri wind up time jumping to the future with the Starslayer and have to forge a reluctant alliance.

Tyler is still trying to hold everything together despite having lost his crew in time and becoming a Syldrathi prisoner.

Will the team get back to one another in time (literally) to defeat the Ra'haam? That is the real question.

I laughed. I cried. It moved me, Bob.

This series is most definitely PG-13 for closed door, but very obvious sex, profanity, and violence.

K&K knocked it out of the park with this incredibly entertaining trilogy. I'm looking forward to when I reread though these again!

.....the fuck.
LOVED how everything came together and oh boy, I cried so much. What did Zila do to me?!?
However, two books prepared me for Auri dying at the end, so her not actually dying was a bit cheap shot I didn't enjoy at all. I really don't like surprise-not-dying stories, as they are not surprising at all at this point.

I have complex feelings about this, which is why I'm going for a 4 that really is leaning towards a 3.5. The PLOT of these books is great, especially the second half of this book. Man I was riveted, watching everything unfold and separate and come back together and line up. It was SO good, especially the last 1/4th or so.

But I am convinced that the male author of this series writes the male characters, and they're my least favorite chapters. Every one of the characters in these books are hormonal teens, but the boys are by far the most annoying. I don't think a single one of the boy-POV chapters didn't include them thinking about sex or a hot girl's butt or something like that in general. Like dear lord, save me.

The rest of the book is worth ignoring that though, imo. Though I could have done with this book maybe being written by just the woman author haha. Unless I'm wrong and she wrote the male POV chapters but I really doubt it from how they came across.

Anyway I'm sad this is over but also it was a good ending.
