Again recommend the audiobooks. They are stellar.

This book has a darker tone. I cried a lot. This was a ride. It couldn’t have the same humor, and i really missed that. Hence the reason i knocked it down a star. Its not really fair to the book though. It had to be this way. I just really missed the humor.
I recommend.

Heart warming ending to a thrilling series. There’s something special about a YA space thriller that never gets old

Book: 3/5
Series: 4/5

Not going to lie, I powered through this book because I have so many more books on my bookshelf I’m excited to read.

It’s was ok, not as good as the 2nd book, but also not a series I want to read again.

This is a less good version of the Skyward series by Sanderson. Like, Skyward Lite.

But it did have me tearing up at parts so I can’t rate it too low.

This was my least favorite of the Aurora Cycle by far. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters in the first book and watching the mystery of what was happening to Squad 312 unravel. The next book we got to see relationships and characters develop which was fun but not as enjoyable as the first book for me. This last one incorporated time travel pretty heavily. That is just not my favorite trope. I actually didn't hate the time travel bit by the end but the beginning of the book felt like a little bit of a slog as the time travel piece was introduced. I also get that found family is really at the heart of this book but, man-oh-man, was the point hammered a little hard for me on this one. I also didn't especially enjoy how things wrapped up with the big bad. Glad I read the series but I was never as engaged as I was in book 1 in the remaining books.

It only took me a couple months but I finally picked this book back up to finish the second half.

I absolutely adore anything these guys write together and this was no exception. Loved seeing it all come together.

The audiobook is what made me fall for this series from book 1 & carried me through the rest. The cast reading 5 stars; the story is 4 stars because the wrap of the “enemy” was complete BS.

I love Zila so much
