This book is part of a series. I read book one and enjoyed it. The characters are related and the character's stories intertwine in both of the books. In this book we get to hear about how Trevor and Julia had previously met during what was supposed to be a one night stand. There was a lot of drama from the get go for both Julia and Trevor. Trevor is trying to escape his father. Both Julia and Trevor have amazing friends that will do anything for them. I can't wait until book 3 when we get to learn more about other characters. I was given an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Gosh this is a series that you’ll definitely want to binge read! I’m not sure I’ve ever read a book with as many laugh out loud moments AND steam! The heroine is a quirky and says the funniest things and the hero is a possessive alpha which create great banter and tons of chemistry. I’m loving this series so much. I can’t wait to read Preston’s story but I have a feeling that she’s saving the best for last….Loki!

I loved this book. I did have a little trouble initially as the book goes back in time whereas I was ready to start where Cross My Heart left off. However it didn't take long to love Trevor and Julia's love story. I enjoyed seeing how they met. Julia's external internal monologue is hilarious and it's so lovely to see Trevor love and accept her quirk. I loved that Trevor calmed Julia's chaos and she brought light to his darkness. Their journey definitely wasn't easy, sometimes it was hard to watch especially when they were apart. Their chemistry was hot and their love was strong even in the tough times.

I am loving this series!! The overall plot carries over all 4 books and in this book we find out a huge (I thought it was huge) twist and it’s good. My jaw literally dropped when I read it!!

Trevor and Julia’s story is so sweet and I really liked them in book 1 as side characters. Their little bomb was another fun twist!

This book really leaned heavily on the previous one. It almost felt like it was repeating it word for word at some points just from a different perspective as the timeframe overlapped so much and I found that a little tricky to get around.

I really liked what I saw of Julia in the previous book but at the start of this one she felt a bit overdone - especially with all the external monologuing, it felt very 'she's not like other girls'. But once that calmed down a bit I liked her as a character, she was smart, capable, caring and strong. She was a great friend and a great mum.

I really liked Trevor, he was loyal and obsessed with Julia (which we love about a man) but he was an absolute glutton for punishing himself. He was protective of the people around him and was really trying his best. Also I loved how he was with Charlie.

There was a fair bit of drama in this book, I wasn't expecting the mob to get involved but I quite liked it. I liked Loki's match-making and meddling slowly coming out and it was interesting to see another side to Preston.

I will admit that the hint towards the next book in the epilogue is clever as it makes me curious to know what happens next.

The end of Cross My Heart had me so excited to read this book. We had a glimpse into what Trevor and Julia’s story was and to hear about their past was just amazing. Their meeting was fun and hilarious but also sexy. The way they bonded in the time that they had together just proved how meant to be they were even if they didn’t even know it at the time.

I absolutely loved Julia and her craziness. Her rambles were hilarious but in a good way. I loved that Avery wrote such a unique character. Even better was the way that Trevor adored Julia and found her rambling cute. While other men might have found her behaviors weird, Trevor embraced it. I mean aren’t men always complaining they don’t know what women are thinking? Julia just blurts it right out. They such intense sexual chemistry. Julia found her puffin in Trevor. Trevor’s past has not been easy, he lost his mom, he is afraid of his dad, he doesn’t trust that any relationships would work. But then Julia came into his life.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much of the past we got in this story, I had assumed it would mostly be based on them finding their way back to each other but it was perfect the way it was. I was a little confused on this connection Lexi seemed to have with both Loki and Preston but when looking at the books forward, she doesn’t end up with either.
