my expectations for this were low, but—holy fuck—i really, really liked this. “niccolaio andretti” is the very first book from parker s. huntington—i read, like, four (4) so far—i genuinely enjoyed, from start to finish, in its entirety. mind–blowing.
i haven't had the most fun with this author, and reviews for this looked abismal to say the least, but i can't lie—for my part, i truly liked this a lot. i don't even know what else to say, maybe because i'm still a little shocked at the revelation. lol.
other than, maybe, i'm afraid that “niccolaio andretti” was nothing more than a fluke...? sigh. i think it's more than official, at this point, that i share a complicated relationship with parker s. huntington's works. i'm reading “ranieri andretti” as of right now—something i never do because i'm usually not into novellas, but niccolaio's younger brother seemed so interesting!—and not having the time of my life, sadly. i can only hope it's because i, as a general rule, am no fan of novellas...
at least niccolaio and minka saved the day for a bit!

This book was really good just not as good as the first book. I would still highly recommend it because the characters were still fantastic as was the storyline. It was just missing something that the first one had. I did enjoy the similarities in Nic and Minka. It's important to not judge a book by its cover especially in regards to these main characters.

In book 2 of the Five Syndicates series we meet the volatile Minka Reynolds again, Lucy's nemesis, and the stoic and deadly Niccolaio Andretti, fixer for the Romano family.  Talk about high energy!  These two are fun to watch...and they think Lucy is crazy.

Minka will do anything for her 12-year-old sister who has spina bifida and is in a group home.  Even marry a man for money. After graduating college Minka  is homeless and her latest sugar daddy isn't working. It's the dangerous and hot next door neighbor who has caught her eye...well actually she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and almost got shot because of him. So why not hatch a plan for him to take care of her. After all, he put her in danger and lives in an expensive penthouse. Famous last words.

Niccolaio is bored. He has a bounty on his head ordered by his brother and has been hiding for years. He is a fixer for his family's number one enemy. It's the beautiful hot-headed woman that was screwing the douchebag old man next door that is in his head lately. It doesn't help she almost got killed by one of many hitman determined to get their $5 million reward for his demise. Now he feels obligated to protect her, but she's getting under his skin as they go from safe house to safe house and he can't afford to let his guard down...uh, too late.

I love Ms. Huntington's writing. This book has some tragic stuff, but then she throws in some LOL dark comedy that just blows me away. Minka's clean cursing and Niccolaio's quirky dark humor is fantastic! I can't help but love the unpredictable and steamy relationship between Minka and Niccolaio. The way their story unfolds is well done as they find common ground and work toward the slow build to the inevitable hot sexy moment. Sigh!

I have to agree with the author that one read [b:Asher Black|34705192|Asher Black (The Five Syndicates, #1)|Parker S. Huntington|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1490656515l/34705192._SY75_.jpg|55884491] first so one can understand the whole Lucy and Asher thing.  It is well worth it with several references (many hilarious regarding Lucy) to the characters.

I recommend this enemies-to-lovers romance for those who love dark comedy, suspense, and sexy undercurrents of unrequited love. I can't wait to read book 3 about Niccolaio's brother Ranie.

I didn’t expect to read a book about Minka, but I liked that now I know why she was so mean in the first book. Niccolaio is this big bad wolf that underneath the surface is just a man that loves his family and wants to be accepted. I liked these two together and how accepting with each other they are. Mostly I liked how Niccolaio wasn’t overprotective with Minka and he included her in mostly every “activity” he had to make. I liked this book a lot more than the first, and I’m excited about Ranieri! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars!

Coming off of Asher Black, I could not wait to start this story. But Parker S Huntington has surprised me with this one! It's different from the first one, introducing Niccolaio to us as he is hiding from a hit on his life. Not your typical mafia story, Niccolaio is not the head of the family in control of everything. Minka is a college student, who is looking for her sugar daddy so that she can get her younger sister out of foster care. When these two cross paths, their is insta -lust. The banter between them is sharp, with a flirty undertone. When Minka's safety is compromised by being seen with Niccolaio, he immediately remedies this by taking her in....24/7. Will these two be able to live together, yet keep their relationship platonic? Throw in the history of Nicco and his younger brother Ranieri, the years of Nicco surviving and being taken in by competing families, and the danger Nicco is in, and this suspense filled story had me on the edge of my seat! Huntington has woven this story with danger, passion and finally love and forgiveness with a happily ever after that left me with a huge smile!

This dynamic narrating team of Lacy Laurel and DC Cole left me wanting more! Lacy portrays Minka with just enough attitude to give her a strong feel, but with her voice is able to have an underlying vulnerability so you can feel her worry, pain and love. DC Cole brings out the alpha, protectiveness in Niccolaio from the beginning, wrapping a warm feeling around my heart every time he spoke. Together they gave this book a compelling narration.

Got pulled into this for the beer bottle scene, and sweet Jesus, was this written by an eighth grader?? The sentence structure, the word choices, the storytelling…middle schooler. Also, we’re gonna have sisters named Minka and Mina? No one saw issue with this?
