If you are like me and have had a passive interest in astrology for a while, this is a good place to start. It’s not too in depth, and mostly focuses on Sun, Moon, and Rising, but there’s just enough to inspire me to learn more. Maybe I was born for this.

Good place to start to learn about your SMR (Sun, Moon, Rising). But it doesn't really go in-depth. I supplemented this with the info I read in the Time Passages app.

This is a great book for beginners and seasoned astrologers alike. If you’re a beginner, the concepts are broken down in an accessible way and if you’re more seasoned, the journaling prompts are fun and spark deeper introspection. This was a nice, fun read to start the year, and I’ll definitely use the prompts in my Astro journal.

Chani is brillant, the astrologer with whom I feel the most affinity. I took away one star just because I wanted so much more. Could she be enticed to write another book?

This is the most clear, beginner-friendly astrology book I’ve ever gotten my hands on. If you’ve ever wanted to dive deeper into your chart without relying on some website to interpret it for you, this is the perfect first step.
It goes in depth to help you understand your sun, moon, and rising sign as well as how the placements of other planets in your chart influence them. If you already have a pretty good understanding of those things I would pass over this book for something more in depth. This is for the person just starting to dip their toes.

Liked this book and loved going through my chart while listening. great intro to understanding the basics of astrology and chart reading. Be prepared to highlight and take lots of notes!!
