I've always been a big fan of Dexter as a book series as well as the show. This book didn't disappoint and I liked the idea of Dexter being kind of shocked and at a loss for words and actions since he's always so on the money and quick witted. It shows that deep down he can be just as stupid as us humans with our emotions and thoughts. It did drown a little in everyday routine and I found myself scanning through some breakfast and dinner meals. I would have also liked to see what concluded with his brothers involvement, but overall another great addition to the series.

I've been a fan of the Dexter series for a while now, so my expectations were high for Double Dexter. It lived up to them in every way. The prose is as inventive and melodic as ever. There were a few laugh out loud moments to be had as well.

I love reading Dexter's monologues, but I did NOT enjoying the return to DUMB Dexter. I strongly prefer to read about "Dexter the Dominant. Clever, sharp, fit, and ready for anything." This story just didn't do it for me. Too many plot points seemed vaguely familiar from previous books in the series (copy cats, under suspicion, heading to remote vacation, being followed there). Guess the author is retreading previous plots. 3.5/5 stars

After my disappointment with book 5, I had to follow up with my thoughts of book 6. It was wicked, wild, and full of action—exactly what I’d expect from Jeff Lindsay! In Dexter’s wacky sixth adventure, he’s dealing with both family troubles as well as work issues. With Astor and Cody coming into their own and Lily-Anne a year old, Rita is focused on finding a new home while Dexter is worried about his newest nemesis—Shadow Dexter.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page. For the first half of the book, I had quite a few guesses as to who “Shadow Dexter” really was and every time I was wrong. The case in this story was so unique and well written that I can’t wait to move onto book seven and see where Jeff Lindsay takes it from there. A++!

Why is the main climax of the story that someone gets kidnapped? It's every time people.
