Just finished this last night, and I am absolutely blown away! This book was such a wild ride. Seriously one of the most twisty, mind-bending thrillers I've ever read!
The story follows Casey, an actress who retreats to her family's lake house to escape the public eye after a personal tragedy. She starts spying on her neighbors across the lake, Katherine and Tom, who seem to have the perfect life...until Katherine goes missing. What starts as a curiosity turns into something much darker as Casey gets pulled into a mystery with so many shocking twists I couldn't keep up. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, the plot flipped on me in the best way.
Riley Sager is officially becoming one of my favorite authors. He has a real gift for suspense and keeping you guessing until the very last page. This book had me glued from start to finish, and the ending completely blew my mind. If you love thrillers packed with surprises and jaw-dropping twists, "The House Across the Lake" is a must-read. I'm still recovering from that plot twist!

While I pride myself on seeing twists before they happen, there were multiple times I put this book down to just stare into space with my mouth hanging open. This novel was so lovingly crafted and with such intention that I want to reread it immediately to see what I missed the first time. I went to bed thinking about this book, dreamt about it, and woke up early just to finish it. I haven't read many thrillers (this is technically my second) but suffice to say, I get it now!

Did not like the ending or twist. Felt like it really came out of nowhere, with no real clues. Like it was just added this way to be shocking.

I was really excited to read this book because I’ve read other books by this author and they were 5 star reads. The 1st half I absolutely loved and was really getting into the book then the main twist occurred and it stopped me right in my tracks and I had such a hard time getting into the book after that. I just felt blah and upset with the ending/ how the story went. Although this won’t stop me from trying out other book by this author.
