Bloodfever was definitely better then Darkfever. Based on what other readers are saying, Faefever should be even better.
I was so happy that Barrons and Mac actually had a moment where we felt the heat between them, and I'm dying to find out what Barrons is. I'm finding myself more intrigued.
I'm teetering between three stars and four. I went with four for right now but it will probably drop down after a bit.

I really liked the story line for this book. Mac's character was more believeable and less whiny than in the first book. Barrons is still a pain, but I think he's funny. I can't wait to see what the author thinks of for the third book.

Graphic: Sexual violence

It's really interesting to me that the romance angle of these books is talked about so much when, thus far, there really hasn't been any romance. There hasn't even been any actual sex.
Sure, there's a lot of talk about sex and some scenes of sexual coercion or abuse. But the main focus has remained on the plot--Mac's quest for the Sinsar Dubh and finding her sister's killer. There's a dark pulse of ever-present eroticism, which I suppose is where that interpretation comes from, but to me it's more a component of tone than content.
Anyway, that said, I thought this was much tighter than the first book. Mac was a more focused and interesting character now that her ignorance and disorientation had mostly abated. She's an action-driven lead with a strong voice, love it or hate it.
The writing itself also improved, I think, though the characters use each other's names in dialogue way too much (a pet peeve of mine).
As for the plot, it moved forward minimally. The focus was more on Mac finding her footing amongst all the major players in Dublin, which I hope will allow some significant progress to be made in book three.
I like a dark story, dark leads, and moral ambiguity, so I'm intrigued by the direction this is going.

I enjoyed this one much more than the previous installment. Thank God there were not as many mentions of how girly the protgonist is as in the first part of the series. In addition to this I enjoyed the increased action in this one.

I keep hearing how good this series is, and I've read the first two books now. I'm enjoying them - but dang I hate how they end. I'll keep reading. I want to see where it goes. I want to find out what in the world Barrons is. There are so many things I still need to know. But dang the cliffhangers.
