I am not always a huge fan of Amy's comedy - at times yes she can be very vulgar and blunt. But I like that about her as well - Amy puts it out there, makes herself vulnerable and goes for it. That I can admire and support. I enjoyed this book - not just her humor but also her brash honesty. I believe she is a great role model for young women and girls - self pride, conquered life and keeps moving on. I highly recommend.

Shame on me. I let myself think of Schumer's personae as her personality.

I often stop watching comedy routines when the performer's personae is inconsistent because I can't buy into their act. Schemer, on the other hand, is one of those comedians who puts on a consistent stage self.

In her book, Schumer comes across as introspective, hard working, caring, and, of course, funny. She bravely and vulnerably divulges all sorts of details about her life. The tones she takes vary by topic: self-deprecating, defensive, appreciative, and so on. In short: human.

Oh Amy... sometimes I love you, and sometimes I don't love you, but all the time, you are funny. You are crass, and filthy, and sweet & sassy and I may or may not have peed myself several times while listening to this.

I'm not sure if I believe a lot of the stories she tells, but that's fine. I came here for the laughs, not the deep soul searching, life advice, or intimate revelations she's had in her (somewhat newish & short) career so far. It's all about the laughs with this one, and this book was chock full of 'em!

I laughed at her memories of blacking out, one night stands, and other raunchy bad decisions she's made. But I also felt surprisingly sad for her as she detailed her father's struggle with MS and some very public episodes they went through as his condition progressed. But I wasn't surprised at some of the political things she spoke about. Did I love those parts? Nope. But, that's a part of Amy - she's potty humor and vagina jokes, but you get her on a gun control rant- there's no stopping her. And that's fine. I prefer to not delve into serious subjects like this when I'm reading - I like the light stuff. And I think it's important, and important to HER that she devoted part of her book to it. I listened, and I moved on. No point in dwelling, or picking her apart for it. It's not my story - it's hers!

I had some serious LOL's reading this book and that is EXACTLY why I picked it up. Her humor is fresh - although it doesn't seem it- she's been in the game FOREVER. I really enjoyed hearing about her comedic and stand-up journey. From Last Comic Standing to making big budget blockbuster movies... I had no idea of some of the stuff these comedians go though. Bring you own audience?!? What the what?!

Kudos to Amy for writing whatever the EFF she wanted to write. I would be hella embarrassed sharing just HALF of the things she shares in this book - but it sure does make for a heck of a good read for me!

This was one of my favorite celebrity memoirs. Amy really opens up about emotional and deep parts of her life, while adding a hilarious spin on things. I enjoyed reading this very much and would recommend to a friend.

Better than expected. She gets very real in some of the chapters, and for that, I appreciate her taking the time to write this book.

Not as funny as her stand up, but I liked her confidence and encouraging tone.

The book starts out on a more humorous path and then turns toward the serious. I really enjoyed getting to know more about her and she has a lot of good messages in her book.

She spared no words. Although I learned about the person, the book was very raw. Tons of sidebars. I did get a few laughs. This was an audiobook, and I appreciated that it was her voice.

She gets pretty open and raw on a few topics, which is refreshing. But keeps it light and funny.
