Bought this as soon as it came out - enjoyed it as a light read and a good reflection on the reality of dating, but it’s unlikely to go down as a classic. Good light reading if you enjoyed Everything I Know About Love

This has very strong Bridget Jones vibes in a way that I appreciate, but all feels properly current and updated. I haven’t read anything that made me laugh and cry like this in a good long while.
Alderton so perfectly encapsulates what it feels like to be one of the last singles standing in your 30s. Sure not every married couple is among the “smug marrieds” but it can feel that way when you look around and feel a bit left behind. The dynamics of varied female friendships are portrayed so precisely that it’s hard not to find parallels. I love Lola fiercely.
& on the other side, she also perfectly encapsulates the worry about your aging parents and how that dynamic changes as you age, which will break your heart over and over again. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
Also, the audiobook narrator is wonderful.

Another one of Dolly's, but this time her OG. I actually don't know why it took me forever to get started, but once I did, I really enjoyed it. Felt modern, raw, and relatable. Would lend to any woman in their 20's who has ever tried online dating. I saw a lot of similarities between the main character and myself. Honestly a great, and easy read. Would read again.

Parts of this book I absolutely loved and parts of it annoyed me. Some incredibly relatable tidbits about dating in London in your 30s.
