This is a fun romance, albeit with quite a few mature references. The entire book surrounds Emma loving her step-brother but knowing that they can never be together because their parents are married. Between the tension in Emma's family, her great friends, and her job, this book kept up the pace, even when the the whole I-love-him-but-could-he-ever-love-me train of thought got a bit tiring.

The main complaint I had was Emma's family connection. Super confusing, and not at all explained properly. The entire beginning of the book I spent trying to figure it all out. Emma has two fathers. A mother. A dead mother. A stepmother. A stepbrother who in the prologue wasn't related to her. It took quite a while for me to work it out.

Contents:
This book has a lot of innuedo and heat, though nothing actually happens, so it could still be considered clean. There are heated kisses and near kisses. A few mentions of women bodies.
SpoilerTalk of cheating on husbands/wives. Emma's step-brother is a cheat, and is together with many women, including her two sisters. They think they're the only one. Emma has a very heated scene in bed with Sawyer. She's in pjs and he's not wearing a shirt. She thinks more will happen, but he stops after tracing his hand down her stomach.

Some cursing.

I loved this book so much! Emma feels like a kindred spirit even though we are different in many ways. This whole story was so good. I look forward to reading the next book when it comes out.

Content: clean- a few mild swear words, passionate kissing, mentions of infidelity

I don’t know! I didn’t feel the chemistry between these two! I felt like the author tried really hard to make them have chemistry, but it didn’t work for me. The part where she kisses him as “research” so he can write kisses better in his book was super awkward and cringy and honestly I wanted to roll my eyes… like yeah, super hot, famous, ladies man needs his nanny to educate him on kissing. Mmmkay.

Maybe it was too much infatuation and not enough actually getting to know the other person? The characters felt very one dimensional. I’m sure this will work for other readers though!

Contemporary romances are usually a hit or miss for me-this one was a hit! It’s a great rendition of Cinderella where you don’t really think too much about it being a fairytale copycat. I loved the witty and clever narration style. Typical story of how people just won’t say what they’re thinking, but it makes it very relatable. (A great romance beach read with a few suggestive comments but all clean scenes.)

How did I even manage to read this whole thing is beyond me.

Let’s start off with every red flag this book has to offer. FMC is somehow super smart and yet the stupidest fucking person on the planet. Every moment spent with her is a comment about her
1. weight
2. Obsession with dr.pepper
3. Sugary treats.
Don’t get me wrong I love a good woman with curves but not one whose every moment is to belittle themselves over it.
She also can’t see Sawyer being so into her?

Wow it has been such a long time that I have started a book and read until 3 am! It was super cute. I liked that it took a min for things to fall into place. Also she does realized the wicked witch will be her mother in law.....right? Yikes. That needed to maybe be a little different. They will still be in each other’s lives. Poor Emma. I loved the chemistry. It was a good book

In the first few scenes of My Not So Wicked Stepbrother I started to literally snort with laughter with the conversation over text message. I really enjoyed the storyline although it did get a little frustrating. Friends who were going to date, the tragedy happens. Move on a while and they cannot date because now they are related by marriage. WHAT THE...can you imagine your love interest is now your stepbrother. Of course, you do get a HEA in this although it takes a while but I think it is worth the wait.

The story was fast-paced and the narrator’s performance was brilliant, she kept my attention and her voice was nice and smooth.
