Bought this from a book reselling booth during a school fair. I thought I'd give medical crime thrillers a try since I've had bad luck liking said genre in tv or film, so perhaps reading it would make me like it. But sure enough, i still did not enjoy it.

Though I do not enjoy this genre as a form of entertainment, it wasn't that that influenced the low rating I ga r the book, rather it was the writing style that I could not make myself to like. So many "Oh how stupid, I thought" or "Oh what a bummer" or things of the sort statements that became progressively ankoying each time I saw them on a page. Oh Oh Oh how bad.

Furthermore, there is a substantial amount of weird comments toward weight. Phrases like "a fat butcher" being aimed at a doctor just seemed borderline offensive despite the context of this in the book; that statement wasn't even the worst of them. Perhaps I forgot the exact words to those due to how much my brain didn't like reading them.

Nonetheless, I can see why people might like this book. With the amount of plot that I've read, the build up was good. It was tense and we were able to get to know the characters as they navigated this mystery. It had potential, but it didn't give more for me to be curious enogh to want to know how the story plays out until the end.

Probably the best in the series even if it uses the twin trope. Nice as characters get fleshed out through the series

Another wonderfully suspenseful web woven by Tess Gerritsen, “Body Double” pushes the gas pedal down full force and refuses to let up.

Filled with the classic characters, taunt mystery to solve, and beautifully descriptive and deep dialogue, this book stands as another impeccable entry into the Rizzoli & Isles series.

Body Double - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"Be aware every morning that you may not last the day, and every evening that you may not last the night."

I am absolutely in love with Tess Gerritsen's books..... this is the 3rd book i've read by her and once I pick any of her books up I just can't put them down. This had me gripped from the get go and just as I thought i knew who it was I couldn't have been more wrong. If you like a good crime book that keeps you guessing this is for you ✨️

Maura Isles forensic pathologist is used to dissecting her fair share of corpses. But somethinga different, this time the victim looks exactly like her....

Detective Jane Rizzoli finds herself tracking a twisted killer across the country. In order to catch him Maura must delve into a dark and twisted family history..... her own.

This my fourth book in the series (and, the fourth in the series), and so far the weakest title I have read. I have found it interesting that in the first 2 books, we got all Rizzoli and no Isles, and in the last 2 books it has been all Isles. In the first two books, Gerritsen did a good amount of character development of Rizzoli, but the last two she has basically disappeared, and Isles has taken over. Hopefully, this trend will stop, and we will get a balance of the two characters.

This book, was just OK. The story opens with a person that looks like Maura Isles murdered in front of her house. I don't want to say much more than that because it is the core of the novel, but what this books suffers from is that after this murder, the book begins to spiral into too many coincidences of fate and luck, that it just seems silly.

Overall, the pacing is sluggish to the point of boredom, but the end did pick up to make it a bit more interesting. Hopefully, this is just this book, as the first three I thoroughly enjoyed, but I really hope that Rizzoli becomes a character that matters in the books again. With the current balance, it makes no sense to call them Rizzoli and Isles books. Gerritsen's background as a MD it makes sense that Isles becomes the focus, but Rizzoli was more interesting, and the police procedural novels we got in the first two were better.
