It was a quick and easy read, and I kept waiting to really see what the Takeaway was from this summer. But it seems like it was really just a snapshot out of this person‘s life where they felt like they really had gone through some hard things. Which I definitely understand and it’s definitely interesting, but doesn’t necessarily need to be made into a book if that makes sense. It didn’t seem to have this ending that really highlighted what the purpose was for making this a book but it was very interesting and I enjoyed following along with the story.

Though nothing much happened, the social drama and storytelling was very compelling. It was beautiful and real. Left me feeling both a sense of love and sadness.

I genuinely didn’t expect this to be a deeply sorrowful story. This coming of age, young adult graphic novel tackles two teenage girls spending a life-changing summer together. The art style is very beautiful and compliments the heartwrenching yet equally hopeful story that the writers were trying to tell.
