An interesting read but, for me, not a compelling one. Though a few of the stories left me with a wow feeling, many of them were simply entertaining without being all that memorable.

Endlessly page-turnable, these short stories are original, while deeply rooted in the Russian short story tradition. Dikanka meets Krzhizhanovsky?

I had high hopes for this book, sadly I was disappointed. There were a couple good stories I enjoyed thoroughly, but the majority fell flat.
