This latest book in the Elephant & Piggie Like Reading series is a very fun look at prepositions as frog tries to keep up with goat. Highly recommended for beginning readers.

This easy reader has incredibly expressive characters and illustrations, teaches directional language, and shows that it is okay to express your needs to a friend when an agreed-upon game stops being fun for you.

A hilarious competition between a goat and a frog, each demonstrating their actions by balancing on a crazy collection items until they decide they're "over it".
Fun readaloud for a lesson on positional prepositions. The lively illustrations of the silly challenge between friends made me giggle.

This rating/review is based on an ARC from Netgalley and Disney/Hyperion.

I can't wait for this book to come out and for the pandemic to be over so we can read this to kids during class visits! I'm already picturing all the goofy things we have in storage that can be held and stacked, most likely with the help of some velcro. I like the illustrations, and it really has the funny friendly feel of an E&P book.

Great resource if you are looking for fun books to read with your emergent reader or you want to teach prepositions. Students can stand on something and start holding objects to mimic the characters - I see a fun game here. As with everything involving Mo Willems, there is a hidden pigeon in the book.

A great book for identifying prepositions and practicing prepositional phrases. Elephant and Piggie (Mo Willems) make an appearance at the beginning an end of the book which will appeal to readers who love E & P. The two characters Frog and Goat speak with the same text bubbles as E&P so it can be used to have two readers practice going back and forth. My 8 year old found it entertaining.

This is a fun early reader book. Repeated use of words and phonemes aid readers in making meaning and the pictures help define prepositional words that are often difficult to define in words! I can even see this book being used in middle school language arts classes when talking about prepositions. A parent or a teacher could also add a SEL component to the book by asking readers how Goat and Frog are feeling during their competition and what a thoughtful response to the situations might be.
