Fascinating, though later chapters are in dire need of an editor given their repetition and fixation on details better left as footnotes

I'll definitely be buying this one to keep as a reference, and I really appreciate that the author did SERIOUS research into all of these restaurants. I know his background is like medieval peasantry, but I really wanted him to dig into the racism and white supremacy of the restaurant world. So many times I felt like thr discussion could happen right there, but he didn't go that route.

Just not what I thought...a bit too involved than what I expected or was looking for. It was insightful and thorough, just more than I was interested in.

I found this book very interesting especially with the comparison of the cultural influences and changes to restaurants and vice versa. Well detailed and documented, however it did seem to become repetitive at times to get the point(s) across.

Could be interesting. Just not in the mood to read this.

This book was interesting, but very dry. It was also very repetitive. I wish that more of the restaurants featured were still open today (I believe it’s down to 2 of the 10).

This was a really fascinating book. I love food histories and this one was full of interesting information and gave a some really in depth looks at the human stories behind these greats restaurants.

This was super great. I wish I had been able to eat at all of these ten restaurants while they were open, just to experience all the things the author points out as being important or tasty. As it is, I think three (?) are still open, and I can't imagine I'll make it to any of them, honestly.

This book is CHOCK FULL OF FUN FACTS, DELICIOUS, and GREAT FOR FOODIES.

(Bear with me, I'm trying out some new appeal factor work. Also, don't be surprised if you get an email or message from me recommending a book. I won't do it unless I think you'll actually like it, but absolutely feel free to ignore the reco. I'm literally going to recommend every book I read to at least one person, so yep, you're probably on the list. #RAhacks)
