OMG! I said this book would be brilliant before I had even finished the first few chapters and it didn't let me down!

Judah and Morgan and the Painted Bay family, just melted my heart! I had tears and hold my breath moments and awwww moments.

This is a wonderful start to a new series and I cant wait to read more about Painted Bay!.

I LOVE Judah, his hot pink jeans, and his energy. Coastal New Zealand sounds like a beautiful place to live.

I am so happy I've discovered this series - compelling writing, top notch banter and flirt, great setting in small town in New Zealand, fell in love with both Judah and Morgan, but my boy Judah is something else! Emotional, witty, adorable and scorching hot story. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. BTW, great narration! 4.5/5

Getting into the flow of the story takes awhile since the narrative tends to wander quite a lot but as that happens you will be able to stick to the end. This is pure romance with a dash of "police mystery" on the side and even though the end might not suit all readers I did find it satisfactory. Both Judah and Morgan work on their own but some of the people around them need adjusting, a bit wooden. Judah's character development is the Thing in here and Morgan is our cheerleader and that is completely OK.

Hogan has apparently written loads and I would like to see some editing in the future books that I, yes, intend to read. The only hindrance is that here's a lot that could be left out for the reading experience to feel more fluent and pleasant. Lots of unrelated details and lots of repetitiveness. I seem to be harsh here but I always seem to be slightly over critical on the books that I like.

Definitely a worth while read for the M/M romance readers.

This book was a surprising delight. Wonderful writing with two MCs who had real depth and felt like distinct characters.

My only complaint is that the book is a bit long in the tooth and I was feeling worn down around 66% in. Certain bits dragged and I really could have done without the fisheries operation.

an age gap featuring a ballet dancer shouldn't be this boring, and im not feeling the connection the characters swear they have (their insta love/attraction seems forced to me).
