I did prefer the second novella in this to the first. It felt perfect for Halloween

“The horseman rides every autumn,
as soon as the leaves begin to fall.
He rides searching for his head,
and if you happen upon him on the road,
he might try to take yours, to see if it fits.”

So fucking gross dude!!! It made me physically ill to read about someone getting a BJ from a decapitated head.

I guess I should have known better? I just assumed his head would stay on or there would be a nicer explanation of what “headless horseman” means than this

Dark part 2 but great for Halloween

The first book was more casual smut than I was anticipating, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The second book was spookier and more true to the OG headless horseman. I was not anticipating the twist, but it made some sort of sense. He took strong silent type very literally and I was here for that.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: murder, gore, voyeurism, grief, dubcon (not between MCs)

Double treats for this spooky season, no tricks here (other than the one Katrina plans). Two delightful, snack-sized bites to enjoy!

I always love reading CM’s books, I get to luxuriate in the word choice and the story and the nonlinear telling. It is always a comfort, stepping into her pages and staying a while.

This will be permanently on my list as a story to read to begin the autumn season each year.

Clockwise, text in white reads: double serving in more ways than one; cream filled desserts; so many new ways to call a cock a cock; locker room voyeur; two types of riding; spooky & historical, autumn vibes; headless head > head. Cover of Hollow by USA Today Bestselling Author C.M. Nascosta, is in the center of the page. Background is a a light to dark red gradient with overlay of different types of jack-o’-lantern faces. Two short stories and definitely worth the read! Always loved the headless horseman story but I  didn't like the gore. This was more my speed lol. But it's not for the faint of heart! 🔥🔥🔥
I added this to my list when I saw the fan art on her page from the mmm story, wow.
This is on KU!
