Ending was rushed and the Epilogue didn’t wrap everything up like I wanted. Jules fought for so much for those she loved and herself and you don’t get that resolute feeling that she got what she fought for.

I loved the plot! Although it was a bit slow for me at moments.

3.5 Way better then it's first novel, much more interesting and enjoyable. The world is built a little more but is still not fleshed out in any way and Jules never moves past being generic although Liam was such a darling I just wanted him to get the girl so the romance I was for even if they're not a ship I practically care about. The ending felt a little rushed and resolved too neatly otherwise it could have been a four stars.

I actually really liked the background characters in this one, especially the relationship between Liam and his friend. The plot definitely unfolded into it's own and drove the book forward for me. A fine improvement on it's predecessor.

3.5 for me. I wasn’t completely enthralled by Everless, but interested enough to finish the series. Time as currency was an intriguing concept. No spoilers, but this book had a lot of fawning over a boy. Do you like the name Liam? Then this is the book for you. This book does have a Snow White vibe and I do enjoy a book that has a twist on a classic tale. Evermore just misses a bit for me, as Everless had so much potential. My 8 year old listened to a bit of this audiobook along with me. The language and subjects are appropriate for YA. It seemed a bit silly to her that a heroine would spend so much time thinking about a boy. The boy doesn’t save the day at the end, and for that it gets rounded up to 4 stars.

Continuing from the end of Everless, we follow Jules as she spends a short time on the run before swiftly being recaptured and imprisoned back in Everless by Caro and Ina (who is now Queen). We follow as Jules, and Liam, adventure through the country, and slightly beyond to old places the Alchemist and her followers used to inhabit as she starts trying to piece together her past and find any possible remnants of memories or information to help her defeat Caro once and for all. After a lot of ups and downs, near deaths and shows of power, Jules eventually finds the necessary dagger within the vault her father had tried to steal from prior to his death in Everless - the Gerling’s vault - and uses it to, unknowingly at first, restore each of their memories which she had stolen during her first life as Antonia the Alchemist, revealing the truth of her and Caro’s friendship and sisterly relationship before she realised the true evil within both of them. The story ends with the death of Caro, the removal of her heart from Jules' chest, and Jules living life as a complete mortal, no time in her blood, with both Ina and Liam (who she admitted her feelings for before killing Caro).

Overall, I can’t think of much to say about these books. Where they weren’t at all bad books, they just felt a little flat compared to other fantasy books I have read and loved (although I know it is unfair to compare books). I couldn’t feel myself attaching as much to any characters, even Jules, and I think part of that may have been due to the fast pacing which was easy to read but hard to empathise looking back on my reading experience. I would say these books are good for people getting into fantasy as they are quick and easy to understand reads they just felt a little lacking for me personally.

Honestly, I wasn’t as impressed with this as much as the first book, however the story between Liam & Jules was sweet. I will say the ending brought me to tears, & was the best part of the entire duology. So I’m giving this 3 stars.

So disappointing. As a sequel it didn’t grip me the same way the first book did and I found myself not caring about the characters. The things that should’ve been upsetting weren’t and I found the plot full and lifeless too. I’m disappointed because I remember loving the first in the duology. Maybe it had just been too long in between? Idk but not good fam
