Holy. Cow. Let me start by saying that Katy an Daemon have some of the most incredible sexual tension I have ever read -- in both young adult and adult books. It's so combustible that they seriously might end up blowing something up in one of these books. lol

In all seriousness though, I really have to applaud Armentrout because writing sexual tension is hard to do -- if it were easy, more authors would do it better!

But their relationship is just so...gah I just don't even know how to describe it without going all out fangirl. Sure they fight, they argue and they "hate" each other. But from the moment they meet you could just feel their attraction sizzling across the pages. They both want what they don't want to admit they want and by the time they both realize they both want it they've already been playing the "I hate you" game so much they can't just stop. haha Hopefully that made sense.

I wanted to say that first because it's really what blew this book out of the water for me. But there is also a whole slew of other reasons why this book -- and because of this book Jennifer L. Armentrout -- became one of my favorites (book and author). I'm not a reader of alien books. The word even kind of freaks me out (well, before this book). How could an alien be hot? But oh, trust me, this was done so well I was very pleasantly surprised. Even when you find out the "secrets" about Daemon, you will not be freaked out, which is what worried me. But I won't spoil that for you.

What makes this book so great is that it's got everything you could want in a good book. Not only is Daemon so hot it kind of hurts to know he's only fictional, but all the other characters are great, Katy is a book blogger (c'mon, that's just awesome), the story is compelling, the action is breath-taking, I laughed out loud on more than one occasion, and I don't even need to round back to the whole point about the amazing sexual tension, do I? Anyways, it has every single element I look for in a book. I think I honestly had a perma-smile on my face for the entirety of this book. It's just one of those books you want to hug close and thank for gifting you with such a lovely time.

Okay, I think I've fangirled it up enough. :) I think you get how much I loved this book. If you haven't picked up Obsidian yet, I urge you to do so. You won't be disappointed. In fact, you'll probably find a new favorite series -- I know I just did!

Let's see, I've honestly been thinking of how to write a review for Obsidian. It's been awhile since i read the book and I still remember how i felt while reading it. I felt dazed and alert at the same time. I felt confused but still clear. I was in love with Daemon. But i hated him. You get the picture. It's all contradicting, but you love that about it (and him).
Katy's awesome. Period. She NEVER backs down and she most definitely doesn't let Daemon walk all over her, which i assume he's used to doing to other people. I remember feeling when i read the other reviews (before reading the book) scared,'cos everyone said Daemon was a jerk personified.
I just have one thing to add, he may be a jerk, but he's got some pretty AWESOME dialogue's. He's always there when he needs to be, sometimes when he doesn't need to be too, and that annoys that hell outta Katy (a.k.a Kitten). I love the nicknames Daemon calls her, though she seems to resent them. They're cute and perfect together and i can't wait for Onyx, OH, and for Shadows.
Dee is absolutely delightful and an amazing friend, and it's obvious how much Daemon loves her and how much Dee loves Daemon too (*snorts* how else can you explain her putting up with an arrogant jerk like him?! Minus those amazing swoon-worthy moments).
Also have to mention my reaction about the end: NO! Really!?! Can this be happening!? Why does it have to end here and now!?? *looks at the skies* Have you no mercy!???
One of favorite quote would be when Daemon finishes Dee's ice cream and Dee confronts him about it:
Spoiler"Did the spoon eat it? Oh wait, I know. The carton ate it." Dee said.
"Actually, i think the freezer ate it." Daemon responded dryly.

Another one when Daemon and Katy are alone:
Spoiler"Trust me, i don't want to be doing this either. But bitching about it isn't going to make it any easier." Daemon said.
"You're such a joy to talk to."

Another one:
Spoiler"You remind me of a little fuzzy kitten, all claws and no bite."

These are just one of another MILLION fav quotes! If i had to write them all, i could just give u the book :P !

I literally read this book so quickly in one day it was that AMAZING!

Think I'm in love with Daemon to be honest, he's so intriguingly arrogant and cocky, but so vulnerable and well, hot.

I thought the book was well written, I wasn't bored whilst reading it and it certainly left me wanting more (not just from Daemon).
I don't really read 'alien' books either but this was completely different to what I expected and after this I'm starting the next book.

I thought the characters in the book were well developed and there was a variety of people to hate and love- which is a definite in a book that is great. The book also has the juxtaposition of the main characters of Katy and Daemon, as she is mundane girl who reviews books- the irony, whom is self conscious and is completely relatable to other girls reading the book; then we have daemon who is strong and confident, and who is also and alien which is divergent to say the least.

Honestly it was gripping and enticing and whilst reading this I genuinely felt like I was watching a movie, it kind of reminded me of the alien film with Alex Pettyfer In, 'I am number four'. Although it is different, it had elements that was similar to this book.

Must read- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A good start the the classic Romeo and Juliet supernatural love story. As an adult I liked this WAAAAY more than my Twilight phase. And it's feeds into my geology obsession with the titles.

La verdad es que ha sido una lectura muy ligera y divertida, aunque era bastante predecible. El romance paranormal quw se desarrolla es muy mono y si, yo tambien me he enamorado de Daemon.

It's magical. :) I'll admit it's not without faults and cliches (lots of them), but I don't notice those when I'm reading because it pulls me in, the world melts away and I feel like I'm there with Katy and Deamon, I'm annoyed with Deamon and in awe of his power and it leaves me feeling happy and always wanting more.

Katy moves to West Virginia with her mother. Her father died three years ago and her mother decided that they needed a change. They moved next to the house of gorgeous twins, Deamon and Dee. Katy immediately finds a friend in Dee and an enemy in Deamon. They seem to always clash, no matter what the topic, but there is some kind of attraction underneath.

When after yet another argument, Katy runs from him and steps on the street she gets almost run over, but Deamon miraculously saves her. After he is forced to reveal his secret and the story spirals from there.

Maybe a guilty pleasure read, but an extremely addictive one to say the least. :)
