What a way to end it. I feel like his life has been completely toppled over. It’s so good - so much intrigue, lore, magic systems, political power plays. Changer, catalyst. Wolf days. In a way, I wish he could become the wolf, fitz goes through so much. But I’m glad burrich was there for him in the end. Wow his life os going to look completely different. That’s crazy, everything was built up so well, all the layers of it and realizations, and missteps………. Daaaaammmnnnnnnn fitzzzz be happy somehow please.

this was so much better than book one. but it is also so much more longer than book one. it did scared me a bit when I saw that. so I am really happy that I make the decision to read this book as an audiobook and I really love the audiobook. the narrator is really good and makes me so much more interesting in this book that If I would read it myself.

this time the plot was more fast paced a little les boring
the world building and magic system was so much more interesting and exiting in this book. it also was easier to follow this time around. I also love the character building of Fitz and seeing him grow form reaction ships. I am now exited to continue the series next month!

This book is huge, more than 700 pages but I gobbled it up in 3 days. Some reviewers complained about it being too slow at places, but I think that’s bollocks. Just because there’s no fast paced action doesn’t mean it’s slow in my book, the whole series is remarkable with its emotional intensity and great characters, so for me internal struggles doesn’t count as slow.

Things start to get brutal here, poor Fitz gets a few days of peace but Robin Hobb has a particular gift for torturing her characters and making you weep. The Fool is enigmatic as ever, more questions about him arise than are answered. He has become my favorite in this book.
