Frostbite is just as engaging and action-packed as its predecessor. The story picks up shortly after the first book leaves off, continuing the story lines about Rose's compressed training schedule and Lissa's struggle to negotiate her abilities. Several interesting new characters are introduced, including a bad boy Moroi, Adrian. Rose is a strong main character, and I like that she at least recognizes some of her weaknesses and when she is being a bit angsty. The developing self-awareness is a refreshing change from other books of this type. I am looking forward to picking up the next one.

Und schon bereue ich wieder kein bisschen, dass ich mir nach dem ersten Teil direkt den Rest der Reihe geholt habe. So cool!

At first I thought this was going to be another love triangle or even quadrangle? However, this book was better than the first. The introduction of Rose's mother and Tasha with the new killings gave much needed depth to this sequel.

Well, finally! Through the first book and first 3/4ths of Frostbite, I was pretty bored and wondered about all the enthusiasm for this series. Well, after reading the ending of Frostbite, now I get it...or at least I'm starting to. Frostbite take us through some deadly battles and let's Rose flex her muscles a bit. After 1.75 books worth of everyone misunderstanding her and holding her in, Mead finally lets her loose. It was so satisfying to see her finally unleashed and practicing all those admonishments and lessons that felt so repetitive and boring at the time. Finally!

So when I read the first book I was blow away, but this. This was mind shattering. Its just too good. The forbidden love, the fights, the death. Its just all too much. Its an overdose of awesome.

The beginning and middle are very "high school meh", but wow Mead can craft an ending.

I thought the first novel was immature, but this one was actually very good. I was surprised at how much I liked it, and how much more I cared about the characters this time around. There may have been a pointless death, at least I felt like it was an easy way out to solving a tough problem, but it worked in favor of the storyline also so.. hard to say. I do wonder how things might have gone down if that character had been spared.
