Another good "LAPD detective with baggage" series. Quick, entertaining, with a twist at the end....not bad at all. I'll be reading more from this author in the future.

Didn’t want to like this book because it started with my least favorite trope, good guy relentlessly pursued by false accusations. However, I got hooked and I have to say the book was excellent

I agree with some of the other reviewers that this was straight up cliche. But it was fun cliche. The mystery was well thought out and entertaining. Classic mystery story that kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning. I will be reading more of this series. Hu

Very entertaining. Routine detective procedural, but a real page-turner, nevertheless. I couldn't put it down.

A good setup for Harry Bosch and the universe that he shares with Mickey Haller. I am definitely interested in continuing this series but I believe the author's best work comes later on.

Solid crime story. Charismatic characters.
Feels like an episode of a good TV show.

I really liked this book, more than expected, because I was unable to get into the TV series. The writing is good, the plot is well done, the characters are authentic. Recommended. I will seek out and read the 2nd Bosch book and hope I enjoy it as much as this one.

Well written crime drama with more than a few interesting plot twists. A very quick read for a 400 page book.

Just meh. I didn't love it. I read it for what it was, nobody is winning a Nobel prize here. I was (sort of) entertained. The whole "gritty loner cop" thing was a bit too much. And at the risk of sounding pretentious, I found it maddeningly predictable. But I also found it entertaining, thus the three stars.
