First half of this book was EXCELLENT. I loved the characters. Last half got a little predictable but still enjoyed it.

Terrific suspense, with a plot that keeps twisting. Excellent debut novel. I'd read more from the author.

I found this thriller to have strong pacing. As a former student that took English classes with the author, I can appreciate how the narrative keeps all the elements tightened and he knows just when to increase tension. There are plot twists to keep the reader engaged and the climax leaves a deep impact. Overall, a highly recommended read.

Woah.

This book is super good but is a little dry for the first half. After that its quite the story with many twists and turns. I still have some unanswered questions. I recommend it. If you find it chewy keep.going it picks up.

That was good but I like the second half of the book better than the first half.

Review to come.

A thrilling book that I struggled to put down in the just over 24 hour period I read it in. It's not in-your-face with action like some thrillers can be, but I was constantly on the edge of my seat wanting to see what happened next. The cast of characters are interesting and charismatic in a way that made me genuinely stressed when things went south for them. Barring one that you spend very little time with I found all the book's narrators very interesting to live with.

I do however have one complaint, which docked this review a star,
Spoilerwhich is that the epilogue is saccharine sweet. It was always going to be a "good" ending, I knew that, but what I got was comically smooth in a way that didn't fit with the state of the characters or the style of the book up until then. I wish those final pages had ended things slightly less perfectly.

This book gripped me right away. Very good story, the mystery isn't glaringly obvious and it does a very good job of balancing the narrative with background. I really enjoyed this.

I found this book to have a messy, confusing plot with weird twists, and characters whose motivation mystified me. The suspense was effective enough that I hung in there to see what happened, but I don't see myself returning to this series.
