Predictable but in a good way

I am really starting to like Becca Steele’s books. I love that they are all in the same universe. I love that we get sneak peaks at other characters! I can’t wait for Zyade’s story. This books was predictable and easily mapped out but it was cute. I saw great character development for the first time in Raine and I really liked that - I also like that Carter confronted his parents. What I didn’t like was how washed over the Dylan thing was - he should have gone to the police. Nonetheless good read =D

It read more as a fanfic vibe to me and I just couldn’t get into it.

It was all god until the end, when the guy kidnapped her. So over the top and suck a cliche. I tough this was high school romance, not fantasy.

This wonderful, beautiful cover drew me in, the genres made me open it, but the words kept me reading. I nearly read this is a sitting, but forced myself to take a break. Every word hooked me and had me wondering what was next.

On Halloween, shy Raine tricks Carter, neighbor and popular guy. It doesn’t take long for him to figure her out, but he’s mad that she tricked him anyway and is out for revenge, all while wanting her more and more. The angst in this book is the perfect amount. It’s a great bully romance in the first half. Add in some mystery, which I did not see coming at all!

I enjoyed Raine’s character. Feisty for sure. Carter was also a refreshing change. While he may be mr. popular from the outside, he experiences the same parental nagging we all do, and once he decided on positive feelings for Raine, he became very sweet.

First book I have read by this author, but I’m thinking it won’t be my last! I need to check out the upcoming book about Kian, the Four trilogy, and anything else upcoming!

I’ve just finished this book, so I’d definitely say it’s for people aged from 15-20. Takes place at school, bully romance with a lot of smut which is very well written. The relationship between them both has a lot of spice, also enemies to lovers kind of vibe which we love. Very addictive aswell, struggled to put it down. The negatives I’d say is, the plot felt a bit everywhere and it felt very similar to a story by Penelope douglas. Other than that, good read!
