This was an intense book, full of deep thoughts and feelings, but the narrator was of low character. Although it all worked out in the end, she predictably cheated on her awesome boyfriend. The book was about double the length of needed to be, as the hussy just kept going back and forth between the two men... Who were friends AND roommates. Aggravating. I didn't really read the last half, sorta skimmed for the juicy scenes. Two stars is generous.

OK I have tried and tried to like this book. Most of my friends fall on one side or the other they love it or they hate it. I guess I'm with the latter though hate is a strong word I don't really HATE it I just don't like it all that much and can't finish it past ch 7. I tried reading it AND I tried it on audio and that annoyed me even more. I simply can't stand the main gal nope no no no. So unfortunately no matter how much I wanted to love this series this is where it ends for me.

I thought of giving this book 3 stars, but then I noticed descriptions of „stars” and… I just could not force myself to put „I liked it”. „It was ok” is just the precise description. So… 2 stars.

There is one great advice for writers – show, not tell. Apparently, noone gave that advice to S.C.Stephens. I was really, really bored for some first 100 pages. Afterwards something at least started to happen, although there were still way too much descriptions – „we did that, that, that”, „happened that, that, that”. I want to take part in those scenes, not just read quick summary! I guess this could also be a reason (or one of) why I really did not see love between Kiera and Kellan – since for most part of the book they talked so damn little! To be honest, I did not believe in Kiera’s love for Kellan also when I finished the book. The author put a great effort to persuade me of her addictivness to Kellan and how gorgeous he looks, and how he is the hottest and most perfect man in the whole world (honestly, it irritated me A LOT to read countless times of his physical perfection) – and that’s the problem. This physical thing was just so overwhelming that I could not believe that she has some true, lasting feelings for him, except for fire and lust.

Aside from irritating perfection, Kellan was quite interesting hero, although I can’t say that I’m swooning over him. I guess I missed some insight of him in first, like, 3/4 of the book. There were times I really disliked him for his attitude and acts – and explanation for them came way too late for me. And I still can’t understand his attitude after the first time –
Spoilerwhat the hell did he wait after sleeping with totally drunk girl who sought solace in alcochol after breaking up with her boyfriend?
Why be such an asshole to Kiera, as if she had promised something to him? Well, it all got much better towards the end of the book, when I got to know more about his feelings, his thoughts, his hurts and past traumas.

What about our second competitor Denny? He was quite „gray” character, and still I symphatized with him a lot. He was really great person and did not deserve anything Kiera did to him.
Spoiler I will never understand, accept or tolerate how Kiera made love with Kellan (by her iniciative!!!) while Denny was sleeping in the next room. That was just gross. My stomach clenches even now when I remember that.
His reaction when he discovered what was happening… Argh. S.C.Stephens made him look like some psych – like this nice, calm, polite neighbour of yours who one day takes his gun and shoots half of the school. I could not believe just for a moment in such reaction from him. It pretty much ruined all ending of the book for me.

And Kiera… If I would be asked to describe her in three words, they would be Blush, Guilt and stupid. Really, I would like to count how many times each of those words were there in „Thoughtless”. I was totally pissed off during her and Kellan’s „innocent flirtation” era (that was also when I almost quitted on reading further) – I just wanted to slap her and call her an idiot for not understanding that she was cheating on Denny and hurting Kellan in such way. Afterwards it somehow got a little better for me, and I would not say that I was so irritated by her indecisiveness, although she had her moments (like saying on one day „I choose you” and on very next „I choose Denny”). At some point I could even understand what it was for her to let go of one of them.

Well… Overall this book was real struggle for me, and I’m totally not reading second and third book.

This book could have 100 pages shorter. I have never hated a main character as much as I hated Kiera. By the end of the book I was wiped out by all the emotional up and down and hated her a little less. All in all it was a good story, I am going to try Effortless (the next in the series) I heard Kiera is way less annoying, and I REALLY want to hear more about Kellan.

One thing I love is when men can express themselves and say how they feel. Whether that involves crying, breaking stuff, whatever. But tell me how you feel, I can't ready your mind. Kiera pissed me off PLENTY. I feel sort of bad but I was always rooting for Kellan. Poor Denny, great guy but safe and sound doesn't trump your soulmate. Follow your heart, try not to hurt people in the process. Abs love Kellan, he's one of my favorite emotional men.

I was in the mood for a fun, trashy, easy read. This was all those things, except fun. The book was just bad. Characters made ridiculous choices that would inevitably have disasterous consequences, and unfortunately the characters were not complex enough for us to care.

I almost gave up reading this because I hated Keira so much. She had a freaking affair the entire book and yet had the nerve to be on her high horse. Jesus Christ she was foul. Also this book was about 300 pages too long.

I can handle cheating in books. Especially if the SO is a deuce canoe.

That is not the case with this book.
Kiera and Denny are madly in love. When they move for Denny's job, they rent a room from a past friend and local rock star, Kellan.

Denny ends up working a lot, and Kellan and Kiera fall into an easy friendship. Lingering glances and stolen touches turn into kisses and a drunken hookup. All the while, Denny is non suspecting and continuing to play the doting boyfriend.

This story was addicting, but infuriating. Kiera plays both men like a fiddle. She is completely indecisive and hurts both men in equal measure.

When Denny goes off the rails banging everything within 10 feet, this relationship becomes purely toxic.

The only innocent party here is Denny. He literally deserved much better than the scraps Kiera gave him. His actions at the end were out of place and misled.

This one didn't hit for me.

So fucking frustrating! I mean, I read this book in a day so I clearly loved it, but damn. Talk bout an emotional roller coaster.
I can't say I've ever been in Kiera's position, but I feel like there were so many other ways to deal with that situation...
I was rooting for Kellan right from the start, but by the end, I was sympathising with both Kellan and Denny.
