This was a thrilling read and more than once my heart was racing. It’s been a while since that’s happened to me with a thriller! I loved the twist in this and thought it was beautifully done, although I felt the ending was very abrupt. It leaves you with an open question at the end that will likely haunt me for a while!

The futuristic gothic novel I didn’t know I needed. Every moment was infused with stress and dread, I could not put it down. The red herrings kept me guessing and I had no idea how it would end even up to the last page. This is my 5th Ruth Ware book and probably my favourite. All I can say is WOWEE and smart homes are an absolute no for me.

Holy shit! So many twists and turns I did not anticipate. I like that the book is written in a series of letters and that the narrator is not necessarily reliable. This book definitely made me a bit jumpy and the ending brought tears to my eyes.

One thing I’m going to say about this one—if the writing hadn’t been border-line mediocre, I would’ve probably rated this near 5 stars. I wish the writing had been exceptional and unforgettable, to at least match the setting and atmosphere and the entire storyline. But it truly fell flat just chapters in. I wasn’t wowed. It isn’t anything spectacular or memorable, honestly.

But I truly loved that ending. It was great!!
