This was the first book by A Zavarelli that I had the pleasure of reading and the book that started my love affair with her stories. Her writing style is clear and concise, easy to follow; while her stories are deep, dark and twisted with a sweet center. This is a mafia story at its finest.

Watching Crow and Mack circle around each other, both deeply suspicious of the other, was such a joy. Crow's position within the Irish mob meant that he needed to always be in the position to make the hard decisions and look out for his crew. Mack's upbringing and loyalty to her missing friend was displayed in her tough, show-no-weakness personality and willingness to do whatever it takes to find Talia. So when Mack enters Crow's life, it shakes up his world. Together though, Crow and Mack were just what the other needed.

Irish mafia - love it

Admittedly, the book started off a bit slow but the pace picked up and when it did, I didn't want to put it down.

Lachlan Crow for the win! I loved seeing an h with some skills. Mack is a mma fighter. Her Dad was a famous boxer and she inherited those skills. He bff has gone missing and Mack won’t give up until she finds her. When she’s at her wits end with the police finding her friend Talia, Mack decides to go undercover at the club where Talia had worked. To do this she first fights one of crows best fighters and wins. She gets the job and Crows attention. This was a page Turner and not as dark or angsty as I thought it would be from tik tok reviews. I’m really digging AZ’s books.

Tough as any Irish mobster out there, Mackenzie has been fighting her way through living on the streets of Boston since she was 13. In and out of foster homes since her father's murder, she is the daughter and granddaughter of two of the best underground Irish fighters and can surely handle herself as such. When her best friend Talia disappears from the Irish mob run strip club she started working at, Mac is determined to find out what happened. On her own she is ready to take on the Russian Mafia and Irish mobsters clearly involved in some way. Deciding to go undercover... she has no idea no idea just how deep this will take her. She finds herself working for Lachlan attempting to get answers without letting on why she is really there. This book sucked me right in from page one... Lachlan was as fierce and determined as he is sexy. Mac has never let anyone in before, determined to be the tough as fighter her Dad raised, yet she simply can't stop the feelings she that continue to grow for this ferocious man... I ABSOLUTELY loved these two!? The book was absolutely fantastic and Im SO glad to have found this author! Ill surely be back for more as the book was so well written, with a fantastic storyline and characters you can't help but fall in love with. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended!!
