Read the new edition.
A solid read although I expected more of an issue with the grandparents, or at least some acknowledgment towards them after the incident. An 'up yours', I am capable and I have many friends to help when I need it.

Just one niggle, the cover. It is gorgeous and a marked improvement on the original. I love the colouring, the layout, the fact the guys are clothed...but...Mitchell has long hair in the book. I distinctly remember reading that he had it tied back with a strip of leather.

This one gave the first a run for being my favorite of the series so far. I enjoyed Liam & Mitchell getting know each other in a somewhat opposites attract set-up. I’m also a sucker for single parent tropes (though, it’s custody of a niece).

I do wish the storyline with the parents had been resolved - it just kind of hung there - other than leaving it to the reader to kind of assume based on other parts.

But overall a fun & sexy read. I had planned to read these individually as a break from another series and instead I’m loving binging them.

Thank you “Little bit wacke elf”

Not my favourite of the series which is surprising as it had the blurb to be and I’m always a sucker for the bad boy, but to me Mitch really didn’t seem that much of the bad boy.
he actually came across as very unsure of himself. I do like the fact that he took responsibility for his sobriety and while he could recognise his parents part in his issues he didn’t put all the blame on them. The way he also stood up for his sister and niece was fabulous.
Liam was a good character too. He had his blow out and judged Mitch early on without knowing all the facts but he owned up and apologised.
I love the way the guys were all so great with Bobbie. She was a fabulous character and a ball of energy but still managed to be portrayed as a child.
Quick read

When Mitchell is left to care for his niece, running the resort at Ellery Mountain seems like the best place to regroup and get awawy from the bad boy image. But when things take a turn for the worse and his niece turns ill it is the doctor on call that opens Mitchell's eyes to something new. Liam instantly feels an attraction to Mitchell but will the two put the baggage from their past effect the love they can share in the future? Once again, R.J. Scott creates characters that the reader instantly falls in love with and cannot hope for them to get anything more than a HEA.

There is something about this whole series that gives me the warm and fuzzies!

Mitchell arrives in town, niece in tow, and is immediately thrown into drama as they make an emergency dash to the hospital. Here he meets the gorgeous Liam.

Mitch also meets the group of Ellery friends that we have come to know through the previous books "Jeez. Was anyone in this town ugly?" but even when faced with all these wonderful men, it is Liam who sparks something in him.

Mitch is a man with a past, plagued by rumour due to his alcoholism. But in reality is a strong man, taking responsibility for his actions and also taking huge responsibility for his sister and her child. I enjoyed that the story had the group of friends accepting Mitch, not judging or making him prove himself.

Liam is looking for love, wanting what is friends have. "He had to be content with what they had now. Not everyone was like Max and Finn, Daniel and Luke or Kieran and Jason. Some men came together when circumstances were right. Didn't mean there was a happy ever after for every gay man in Ellery." But us readers know better and of course Liam will find love!

There are some misunderstandings, there is some drama and heroics, there are confrontations. But there is also romance, sexy sex and a happy ending!

"It turned out that even an alcoholic bad boy like him deserved to love and be loved."

This is not a stand alone romance.

The main story was kind of sweet and nice, but since I read the book out of order in the series, I felt it.

The book would probably be better if I would know all the characters mentioned, and there is where I felt I was missing something.

Mitchell Askett bought 50% ownership in the cabins that Daniel's mother owns on Ellery Mountain. Mitchell is there with his 12-year old niece. Her mother, Annabelle, is in facility trying to battle depression. When Mitchell arrives, Bobbie, is very sick. Dr. Liam Wolfe takes out her appendix. Liam is attracted to Mitchell. They begin to get to know each other. Mitchell is touched by how everyone in Ellery is supportive of him. They help him build a cabin for himself, Annabelle, and Bobbie. Mitchell is a recovering alcoholic. They are a lovely couple. It was good to see them navigate difficulties.
