Wow! This book surprised me so much. I really enjoyed the style of writing, and found this a relaxing read. Spoilers ahead!
I loved how my initial opinions on Yeongju being a little bit of a ‘know it all’ was quickly picked mirrored by the surrounding characters, and author, which changed my mind- it was charming.
I naturally have questions about the state of affairs between Yeongju and Seungwoo, but I think it’s enough that there was an inclination of comfortable contact between them. Mincheol deciding against university and travelling instead was a lush decision, and Minjun finding peace in just enjoying working as a barista and letting go of success stigmas was comforting also. I found myself relating to Minjun the most.
I really liked how the characters all had flaws and inherent differences, yet all found themselves gravitating to Hyunam-dong Bookshop. It almost feels like a place where time stops for the characters, and for me too!
I would recommend this book for people who enjoyed the Morisaki Bookshop, dare I say this story may have been more enjoyable :-), or perhaps I am fickle.
