solid writing, great characters, an immersive and eerie setting... but there was just something unsatisfying about the ending. i hope there's a follow-up

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the dark, eerie world of Raxter island and how vividly I could picture the events of this story. I just wish this book was longer! I want to know these characters better--you really only get to see them in crisis mode, while I would have liked to have more context about who they were before or at the beginning of the outbreak.
