You Can't Scare Me is a very sweet kids picture book that star 2 little pigs, Walter and Willy. They are good friends but Walter is always trying to scare Willy. Willy decides to turn the tables and scare Walter. It showed Willy what it was like to be scared. Loved this one more than I want to admit. Great moral story and I really enjoyed the pictures!

I really enjoyed this book. It portrays dynamics of friendship struggles really well. The book explores a sleepover between two best friends. One is having a great time scaring the other one, who doesn't want to be scared. I loved that the author showed how to effectively use your voice to set boundaries and how it feels when boundaries aren't respected.

A great book for children and would lead to a great discussion. Add this to your classroom or library!

The publisher provided an ARC through Netgalley. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts

This cute little story is full of beautiful artwork, but also two pigs that are not treating each other as they should. Walter and Willy are best friends having a sleepover, but Walter thinks it’s funny to scare Willy. Willy gets tired of being scared and leaves to go home. Will Willy forgive Walter, and will Walter learn his lesson?

This is a cute 32-page book, but it seems a bit old for its target audience, but perhaps not.

I'm not sure who this is for because at first look it seems like two young pigs having a sleepover but the way they talk and the fact that one of them just heads home on his own makes them seem older. We are told they are best friends but they don't really seem like friends. I'm not sure why they are having a sleepover in the first place. If Willy is old enough to just head home without a parent picking him up, why did he agree to a sleepover with a "friend" who has a history of disrespecting his boundaries? To top it all off, the problem is "solved" by Willy doing the same thing to his "friend" so not a great message there.

This is a beautiful picture book about two best friends who are having a sleepover and one of them finds it funny to scare the other.
It's a story about friendship and respect to each other.
Very cute and colorful illustrations

What the.....? At first, I thought it was going to be about two friends scaring each other, but having fun. It was not. One repeatedly asked him to stop because he was genuinely scared. He lied, and said he would, then didn’t. The friend leaves, then comes back to plot revenge. This all just didn’t sit well with me. The boundary violations, revenge, lack of respect..... just no. No means no, and it’s a powerful message that kids should learn early on. One star simply because of the adorable illustrations.

The only thing that I liked about this book was the illustrations. Walter sounds like an awful friend; I would never be friends with someone like him. What really bothered me was that even though Willy repeatedly asked Walker to please stop, Walter didn’t. This book is a good example of what NOT to do at sleepovers. Maybe parents should read this book to their children and say “Don’t be like Walter!”

Walter and Willy are 100% my best friend and I when we were young. I'm more like Walter. She'd scare me and I wouldn't come over for a while and then I'd scare her back. How else do you have fun friendships when you are younger.

This was super cute. And the illustration was amazing!

Thanks to Netgalley for providing a free copy!

I loved this picture book! The drawings were amazing and the story was very good. The message children can learn from this is very important I think. Highly recommend!
