Learning that Lenny Kravitz is a Gemini explains a lot.

He has led an interesting life, but this is a pretty surface-level summary of the first 25years…was hoping for more substance and less name-dropping

Im torn about this book - I love lennys music and maybe I just need to appreciate that and/or listen to audio version- I didn’t feel as if I really became acquainted with the true spirit of Lenny - and that makes me sad

Covers the first 25 years of his life up to his first album and just before his career exploded. The early part of the book where he talks about living between New York and his grandparents in Brooklyn are the most interesting, maybe because when he moved to LA as a teen he smoked a lot of weed so probably doesn't have as many memories. I liked the chapter where he writes about his two heritages of coming from a Black family and a Jewish family. This book doesn't really get to any emotional depth so i wouldn't say I know him any better.

I didn't know anything about Lenny Kravitz's background so this was very interesting. I listened to the audio narrated by Lenny himself. Probably the best way to read this book! Now to wait for part 2...
