I really want to give this a 2.5 but Goodreads doesn't have that option. It was funny at parts, but I found the main character, Sophie a bit irritating and just a tad too self-deprecating. The premise is obviously far fetched but I think that's the point here. Oddly enough, I do want to read the other books from the series, but I will check those out of the library.

So yes there were several times that I rolled my eyes thinking "Really?". And yes, the story does contain some cliches. Regardless this was a super fun story to read. Its a cozy mystery with a dash of chicklit. Its a great book for a summer on the beach or a cozy weekend with a glass of wine. Its fun when you find a story that can make you laugh and grin in that "50 First Dates" or "Wedding Singer" type feel-good movie way. Sex, Murder and a Double Latte did just that: made me laugh and grin and left me feeling good. I'm off to read the second book in the series.

This was an interesting book. I'll give the rest of the series a try after reading it. It seemed a little sloppy but the mystery was good and kept me reading. Plus the main character is addicted to Starbucks...even if the drink she orders doesn't really exist. Worth a shot.

I first read this book when I was FAR too young to be doing so, but I’m so happy to find it definitely holds up. It’s a popcorn read and a bit smutty, but honestly sometimes you need a book like that. It starts a series but doesn’t make you need to continue on if you don’t want to, it’s great. It’s an awesome little thriller that I only figured out because I read it before, but otherwise it’s full of clues and red herrings and just a great ride. Also Sophie is a GREAT main character; funny, relatable, and extremely likable. I wanted to see if the book holds up and I’m glad to say it does and I will read the rest eventually. If you want a fun mystery with a little smut, this book is definitely a good time.

I had a hard time with this book and I realized I like my protagonist to be better than the villains she is trying to defeat. Setting up your boyfriend (who was innocent)on Rape charges because you decide he is the killer? Yeah. I have a hard time with that. I don't like my "good guy" playing dirty.

I am listening to the second book in the series because I got it on sale before I realized I didn't really like the first book all that much.

I enjoyed this, it'a a quick fun read. Sophie and her friends are bonkers, the murder plot is interesting and I found the ending very satisfying.
