Surprisingly good book

This is surprisingly good.
The book starts where earth is attacked by aliens(but aliens are goblins & wraiths who can use magic) and the MC dies in the hands of a wraith to be woken up in a much stronger body of the same name 600 years later on the same earth.

It was fun, the only blowback is the progression is little shorter.

Functionally complete story using some light isekai and wuxia elements but fundamentally lacking depth in the characters, world and narrative structure. The story feels like its going through a checklist on the "Hero's Journey", the characters feel very two-dimensional with the protagonist being fairly unrelatable and the ladies of the cast lacking in vibrancy and depth.

Despite that, the three book series does have a definite idea of where it is going and at least feels mostly consistent within itself, with a definite "end-point" at the finale of book three. Not the worst way to spend a night reading in bed, but a long way from being in my top 100.

Can't wait for book 2!

Looking forward to seeing how the story progresses. I did not want the book to end. Hopefully the next one is longer.

I was actually surprised by the quality of this book. The characters and story were interesting. It wasn’t high quality literature, but it was a fun read. I didn’t find any moment boring. The adult scenes weren’t overdone.
